Whatever Poch comes up with, I hope he ditches the diamond thing for the next game. We can't play that with a midfield two of Winks and Sissoko at the very least we need Dele to free Eriksen more.

I desperately hope Dele and/or at the very least Dier is available on Sat. Winks has been one man holding our middle defensively with Sissoko being our false RB
We need players like Son and Moura to play wide, and Rose and KWP to provide width. Davies is defensively OK but doesn't provide much offensively. We need Rose and KWP to run up and down pumping balls into our final third.

We have no width I agree. Wed night saw Lamela, Kane, Eriksen and Son all cluttering up the center of the pitch leaving no space at all.

Yes, it was ridiculous. Fair to assume this was Poch's tactic for some reason - if not he would have changed it.

In fairness it has always been a Poch tactic to have his full backs provide the width.

The full backs push on, inverted wingers cut inside to support the attack and the CDM drops in between the CBs to create a back 3.

The issue is that we haven't had a recognised CDM for a long time now due to Dier and Wanyama being injured so Winks and Sissoko have been asked to pick the slack but that means less driving, line breaking runs from both of them and for all their hard work, neither will be as good as Dier at breaking up play.

We need our best players all fit to be able to beat any top 6 side. We can just about get by beating the Newcastles and Leicesters but it simply won't wash against any team better than them or in Burnley's case, a confident team, in form with a very specific gameplan.

I just had a crazy thought. Given our issues with full back why not play Toby at RB and Jan at LB when we want to play a flat 4. Then 2 of Dier/Sanchez/Foyth at CB.

Can't be worse than Davies and Trippier. When we play WB's we can then use one of the others and move Toby/Jan back to CB.

I'd play Jan at LWB and Davies alongside Toby and Sanchez in a 3. Rose at RB. At least he can defend unlike the other 2 donkeys.

Lloris

Sanchez Toby Davies

Rose Dier Winks Sissoko Jan

Son Kane
No room for the passenger any longer. Not in a game we need to fight to win.

Because they we'd just get cut straight through the middle.

I'd actually have Dier at right back if he's fit. At least he can defend.

All 3 are decent enough defenders to not see us get cut open IMO but yes i agree Dier could be an option too.

Lloris - Sanchez, Toby, Jan - Aurier, Winks, Sissoko, Rose - Eriksen, Son - Kane

Or:

Lloris - Aurier, Sanchez, Toby, Rose - Winks, Sissoko - Eriksen, Son, Lucas - Kane

I genuinely couldn't care what the team is, this week has got me feeling like a fan of the "old Spurs" and I'm bricking it about tomorrow whereas in the more recent NLD's I've been excited and confident about them.

Hearing Alli and Dier are out, along with Jan and Winks potentially fills me with an even greater sense that we're gonna get pumped tomorrow. Big performances needed from those not pulling their weight right now

I’m sorry to say I just don’t trust wanyama. I’d rather play 3 at back with foyth or davies and sissoko/eriksen CM.
