Seen enough of Bentancur to want him to start vs Southampton.

Lloris
Sanchez -- Romero -- Davies
Royal -- PEH -- Bentancur -- Reguilon
Lucas -- Kane -- Son

Subs: Stevie, Kulusevski, Gollini, Doherty Rodon, Sessegnon, Winks

This is what I'd go with.

If Dier and Skipp aren't fit then replace with Sanchez and Hojbjerg.

Same 11 except Bentancur for Lucas or Winks depending on whether AC wants 2 or 3 in the middle. Hopefully Dier and Skipp fit for bench.
Don't know why people are picking Skipp ahead of Hojbjerg. Not once has Conte done this to date. Think he loves Hojbjerg's attitude, as do I.

One thing I dislike about PEH is that he blames people not running for his sometimes wayward passes. Yesterday he put on the brakes when he would have been through had he run onto Kulu's pass on the right channel and could have gone on to shoot himself or draw out a couple of defenders before passing inside to a team mate in a better scoring position.

Do we have any info on how long Dier is unavailable?
Its my understanding that they didnt play him yesterday because they wanted to ease him back in. That would suggest to me he is available but that the staff are being cautious or careful about his return.

I would be very surprised after the first half performance if Conte doesn't go with the same starting 11, especially as they have just had a break and Conte made
five substitutions yesterday .

The first half performance was so good they deserve to go again, he can rotate the weekend.

That was so disappointing to see. I get he might have been tired but at least make the effort and take the ball to the corner flag and kill the game off, if he didn't feel comfortable running at the defenders.

I would usually agree, but I think he’s key for us with a few games coming up to keep players fresh. Rotate the wbs, rotate cms, and rotate Moura and son as much as we can.

I know he has got a lot of stick recently on here, but Højbjerg is by far our most effective CM when it comes to tackles, aerial wins, clearances and blocks. He also has the most assists and goals of our CMs. Who was it that was pressing high to set up Kane last night? Who was it who had the assist for the assist for both of Bergwijn's goals against Leicester? What he lacks in finesses he makes up for in tactical intelligence and effort. Thus he is in the box seat to partner Bentancur when he has settled, with Skipp competing with both. Højbjerg and Bentancur will give us a real physical presence in CM (both over 6' tall) and also ensure we have two players capable of disrupting play. But for now I'd ease both Bentancur and Kulusevski into things from the bench.
