Was it JR and King by any chance?

I dont know. TBH, even though Ive watched weekly Spurs for 10 years now I dont really recognize the pundits and commentators by name since Im not exposed to your media on a daily basis. I recognize the voices but cant tie them to a name usually or know who they played for.

It was Phil Neville for NBC sports. It was the stream I had on. He said that he had Danny Rose in the England under 21 squad and very much gave the impression that he wasn't rated by most involved with the squad. He went on to say nobody would've predicted his improvement and thinks Poch deserves so much credit.

Danny Rose is everything I want in a player full stop. Let alone a left back/wing back. Passion, tenacity, technique, stamina, speed. He's a flipping top top player

One of my fav moments last night was when Chelsea fans started singing Rose is a wanker, our response was "would you let him on a train" and absolutely fucking brilliant.

Over on Redcafe they have a "who is better? Rose or Shaw?" Thread and to their credit most are pretty reasonable with what is a pretty obvious answer.

http://www.redcafe.net/threads/does-anyone-still-think-shaw-is-better-then-rose.425259/

Some are still homers, but that's to be expected.

I read that thread but I still think it's quite ridiculous some are only coming to terms with it. Even when he signed for united he was debateable, but it's taken Rose being the best LB in the league for last 2 years, and Shaw being injured and not doing anything of note for them to even start to consider it.

Shaw was/is a great prospect but, he wasn't the best LB in the league when he was bought, he was one of the best. You'd think he was Roberto Carlos the way they talk

On signing his deal in the autumn, Rose said: “Everyone knows the club is going in the right direction and I am over the moon and I will stay here until I am an old man.”

Mourinho could fuck off... Why would he only bid for one half of each player?

It's funny how Manure fans don't rate either so much and slate them on a regular basis yet their manager wants them

Mourinho could go suck a dick

I wouldn't even take 100m for the pair. Can't be replaced. When you think of Stones, Jones and Shaw costing a combined 110m and Walker and Rose cost about 5m total. Throw in Davies and Tripper it's still under 20m

3rd or 6th. Why would either player take a step down ? ;)

Seriously Utd are obviously a huge club, however I hope everyone can see that we're heading in a upward direction while they're (Utd) are plateauing (at best). Yes they can no doubt offer bigger wages, but with our squad camaraderie (evidenced by so many signing new contracts), the Poch factor and an exciting new home in the works why would they leave ?

ESPN article which quotes from Standard article:

Under Pochettino, Rose has established himself as England's left-back but he says he is still learning in a role which he only started playing regularly when on loan at Sunderland in the 2012-13 season.

When he returned from the Stadium of Light -- where Tottenham play in the Premier League on Tuesday night -- Rose had the option of playing left-back for Spurs or playing in midfield for a Championship club.

"It is not my natural role," he said. "Even now I'm still getting used to it, understanding what I need to do from a tactical point of view. When I was growing up, I would never watch left-backs.

"I took the left-back option and look where I am today, so I am thankful it has worked out the way it has. I remember I got a lot of stick from Tottenham fans a few years ago when I had a bad season, but they need to realise that left-back wasn't my position. It was only my second year playing at left-back.

"The stick I received was very unfair and I was very unhappy after that season [2013-14]. This is the first time I have had a manager who has taken time to show me what I need to do better. That is why I have come on in leaps and bounds.

"I have done lots of drills, had one-to-one meetings with the manager, looked at video clips from training and games. I might sit in his office for anything from half-an-hour to two hours, discussing football.

Hope he's forgiven us for that stick and doesn't hold it against us in the future, we fans can be fickle ****s...

Poch is so important as well, even when perhaps he was making some odd decisions with the line-up at start of this season and we were stuttering along a little and still getting results I had faith as you could see how much the players had faith in him.

Roberto Carlos was bigging this guy up the other day saying that he enjoys the way he plays.

He also said that he should leave to get more money :D

We all should be ashamed of ourselves and we need to keep this in mind when any young lad is trying to make his break through to show some patience and understanding.

Most do. However, there's some want Onomah sold already, and Janssen.

Loved him as soon as he got here. Back on old BBC606 I got laughed off the site for saying he'd make a good CM. Glad he chose LB, though.
