Dembele has been more of a problem in my opinion.
0 assists from a DM i understand, although ive never rated dembele.
0 assists from AM is awful townsend
He can learn from watching and playing with holtby lamela and erickson.
He needs to watch for a few games first though.

Agree. The three best chances were Eriksen. Paulinho and Kaboul. The first two were straight at Krul, but Kaboul's was the worst IMO. All he has to do is get his foot under the ball and flick it over Krul, but he hits it low and straight at Krul who is virtually on the floor.

His best save was the Soldado header in the first half and the deflection from our free kick.
Yea and even that while he was at full stretch it was a save you'd be surprised if he didn't make it more than an amazing save to deny us

There isn't one cm combination we've used as of yet that has the right balance, in my opinion. I dislike the lack of steel in Paulinho's game. And I dislike this business of him loitering around the opposition's D when we are faffing about with the ball in the middle third.

I think the biggest flaw in this stupid fucking set-up is a striker who cannot play with his back to goal.
I think Capoue might well have the skill set to be the best of the lot and maybe we look at how Arsenal play in terms of having just one disciplined midfielder in Flamini and the rest express themselves.

However, I think you've touched on what is probably the biggest problem yet people don't want to look at it in that Soldado, lovely goalscorer he is, just isn't the right player for us or our system.

We desperately need a Giroud - someone who can mix it up physically and aerially, yet is very competent ball to feet and ultimately, be the pivot for the likes of Eriksen, Lamela et al to play off.

The closest we have is arguably Adebayor but it's pointless even selecting him in squads as quite clearly he doesn't have a future under AVB - most of it is his doing might I add.

Eriksen's miss was very poor, just sweep it first time into the far corner. However if you're going to take a touch then you have to give the keeper no chance from there!

And what makes it even stranger is that we didn't pay up for Benteke.

I think regardless of whether Lloris was deemed fit or not, it was fucking stupid of our defence to play a high line with Bradley in goal - a recipe for disaster which proved correct.

No point being rigid to a system if the fundamental characteristics to carry it out effectively aren't there - either that's the remit of the players to adapt or AVB's stubbornness, we'll never know.

I mean he sounded angry with the clubs medical staff that they didn't allow Lloris to play.

To be fair a few in the first half when the sun was shining in his eyes were pretty good..
.
Yea they were, i said I agreed he had a great game - just that our poor finishing made his job easier, made it easier for him to have a great game

There wasn't a save where I thought " how has he kept that out?" I was generally thinking that our players shouldn't have given him a chance and made life easier for him than it should have been considering all the shots he had to face

What I wouldn't give for a player like Giroud right now. This business of having a striker who needs to be spoonfed is getting on my tits.

I would bring Adebayor back in-that's how frustrated I am. Doesn't look like AVB will swallow his pride, though.

Absolutely.

Question is, do we still maintain an interest in him and if so, what does it say about Soldado?
Fucking sell him-that's what. But who on earth would want him?

I think we can both agree the answer to our striking woes isn't Jermain fucking Defoe!

If we continue to play this system, like you say, we'll need that type.

I'm not sure how Soldado is going to do long term, if we continue like this its going to be difficult all round. Soldado needs proper service into the box, he's a natural finisher - we just aren't providing him with enough of those types of chances - and I don't know if we'll be able to playing the way we do in this set up.

Personally I'd go all out for Benteke in January, and off load a few who should be surplus to requirements.

What does Benteke thrive on?

Crosses!

Do we get in enough crosses for Benteke to suit us?

I honestly think any striker would struggle up front for us at the moment, no crosses, no slide balls, no counter attacks, no company in the box, no partner, nobody getting to the byline, whole game played in the width of the penalty area, terrible set piece deliveries! No paying upfront for us right now can be no fun!

How frustrating is it to lose a winnable home game on a weekend where Chelsea dropped 2 points and both Man City and Arsenal dropped 3?

I want to know what those two twats sitting beside AVB with books and dossiers in their laps actually fucking do?
Does he give them homework during the game?
Maybe they are Yes-Men. How could any assistant watch that crap week in, week out and not have a quiet word?

Someone commented that Freund has been moved into the background. Is there any truth in that?

Well he's certainly not going to get the service from Siggy, Lennon and Townsend.

Going forward, we have to build around Lamela and Eriksen because they are the two players who represent our best chance of smart, incisive football and to provide Soldado with at least some sniffs at goal.

The stat of having one pass to Bobby inside the penalty box last weekend is as laughable as it it worrying.
