Mike Bridge on Twitter last night said, Adebayor, Lennon and Dempsey will all be back for Fulham. No mention of Kaboul which makes me think he's still someway off. Don't really expect to see him until very end of season or preseason.

He's had a very serious knee op which will take a lot of rehabilitation & training before he even gets near the u-21 matches.
When you're out for so long, you also have to be very careful of a 'secondary' injury to a different muscle/joint so conditioning takes it's time, especially in the winter months.

And maybe the fact we're 3rd in the league and lost 1 in 12 means we're doing the right thing and not rushing him.

Added to that we are not short of defenders at the moment. Kyle, Kyle, Daws, BAE, Caulks, Verts and Gallas all available. I think if he would be a striker we would have seen him already.

But no need to rush. Step by step without a risk.

As long as he's still as fondly thought of upon his return, I'm all good. I know Andre Villa-Boas likes his players to play their way back in to the side, but when he's fully fit, I think he's our number one defender and should be worked back in as quickly as possible. To me he's the equivalent of Vidic at United, when he's available, he plays.

Disagree. Verts is the main man, but even he has to stay on form. I disagree with anyone being a "when he is available, he plays" player, that's just fucking lazy management.

Fair enough. I can see where you're coming from and I agree that Vert's is our best defender, it's just that I think Younes has a bite and presence about him that scares other a bit like Vidic. Dawon has that too to a certain extent but with him and Vertongen I just wonder sometimes if we're a little "too nice"?

I'm not saying Kaboul is dirty or that it's the reason we lost yesterday, but I think if Kaboul had been available yesterday he could have bullied Suarez a bit who would/ could have ended up sulking. They tried doing it for the whole 90 to Bale remember.

But you're right, it's up to the boss to pick the team based on form, but I think before his injury Kaboul was very much part of that spine who's consistent form led him to kind of become undroppable.

But I will feel much more confident....... I am just saying how I will feel.

I have admitted I think Dawson has been doing a bit better lately and something has been clearly worked on but that does not mean he still worrys me when he is on the ball.

imo it will be difficult for Kaboom to break into the team. AVB has mixed and matched the CH pairings, and now they all seem fairly comfortable with each other. It's going to take that little bit longer for Kaboom to get up to speed and in tune.

Ive already accepted he wont play this season, but with Gallas' contract due to expire, Verts, Kaboom, Daws and Caulker next season will be great.

I think we're probably going to have to accept that this season is a write off for Younes. It's sad, but there's no point him coming back for 5-6 games just searching for fitness and match sharpness. Better to have a full season and build up that fitness and his confidence in friendlies.

Kaboul is a big ugly monster of a man who looks like he will crush people. Dawson is a grinning looney. If I was a forward I would rather Dawson marks me, but on current form you wouldn't get a sniff anyway (unless Defoe or Walker pass the ball straight to the forward).

POTL said he's back in training and working with the strength and conditioning coaches a lot.
