Yeah. It’s not his fault. He also seems a fairly likeable chap. But the whole point of sacking a manager is to change things, you don’t change things by leaving his right hand man in charge.
Unless the reason for the sacking was due to the manager's behaviour more so than results.

We were dire and he had to go but it was not unreasonable to think that having Conte (or his amanuensis) finishing the season would have been better than a totally new character and approach. (Although this was what we would have preferred)

No it wasn't. He had 2 centre backs on the bench yesterday so could easily go back 3. He had Sarr on the bench against Bournemouth and subbed Skipp for an attacker (Richarlison) instead. He hooked off Sanchez when it wasn't working after only 20 mins. He brought in Danjuma in his place and went to a back 4. He has done different things to Conte.

2 CBs only just back from injury, and Sanchez who got pelters in the previous match. I doubt he'd have done any of the things you mention were it not for injuries. Anyway, no big deal.

Tanganga and Sanchez are not just back from injury. You said he hasn't done anything different but he clearly has.

Bet we start seeing a few feigning it soon like Lloris so they can distance themselves from this...

Mason was shouting into stellini ear during the match Sunday. Stellini looked lost if I am honest. Mason imo sorted the mess out and stopped us from being even further humiliated.

Trouble with Mason is that he isn't in a situation where it helps to be our number 2. We have no structure to follow. It's not like Kompany or Arteta playing or working alongside Guardiola and his system. Then they go and implement a similar system with their own ideas. Mason is bouncing from one manager with different ideas to another. He's a lot better going to be number one at a lower league team and find his own system. Either that or work as a number 2 with a club like Brighton who have a great set up. There's no benefit to keep him here. If we make him number one for a month it's he's not in a position to change system and do things his way. We need someone who already has experience and their own system. Even if it's old school 442 get it up Kane stuff. Let Mason go for his own good, he should go in the summer anyway so as well do it now. Let the next manager pick their own number 2.

If this guy is in charge come Wednesday night I won’t be watching the Thursday game. I’m done watching us this season. It’s just absolutely pointless. I predicted we would finish 8th and it’s looking more and more likely we will.

Yeah Stellini is already done if these are the stories we're getting.

And unless a wildcard pick like Redknapp can join at the drop of a hat, it's bound to be Mason.

I'm fine with Mason. He was ok last time and picked the right players in their right positions. Although I wonder how much he was saved by Bale in a few of the games.

Let's be totally honest, Newcastle players spared us further humiliation by taking their foot off the gas, not Ryan Mason.

Good point, but they also wanted to stay away from unnecessary injuries so it made sense for them to simply run the clock down. Their only impetus came from Gordon and Almiron coming on to pick at the carcass

Thought I’d stick on SSN to check in on the shitshow. ‘Tottenham considering the future of interim coach Stellini’. Nonsense fucking headline really. ‘Spurs set to sack Stellini’ would be more accurate. Otherwise it sounds like we give a fuck what he does next. Shambles. And don’t just give it to Mason. It’s like death by 1000 cuts getting through this season. Get Poch on the phone quick before we have to drag this shit into the new season and several more seasons to come.

Please don't give it to Mason, we need someone external to come in (Redknapp preferably) to pick up the destroyed morale and Mason isn't experienced enough and has been part of the clusterfuck. I'm sure he is a nice guy and might have a great career ahead of him but now is not the time to drop him into this type of scenario.
