To be fair, the YouTube video was labeled "Welcome to Liverpool" so you know it's top class.Honestly impressed at how quickly people can form strong opinions on players based on nothing but a five minute YouTube compilation.

Looking at some of the video clips of him on youtube. Is it just me or is there a striking resemblance between him and Sandro?
Have you seen Dier and Sissoko's first touch? Never mind Alli's ball control at times.
We're hardly Barcelona and that's not what Pochettino wants, he wants a mix of pace, power and technique.

This clearly doesn't fit our requirements. We have Dier and Wanyama in this position already. What's the bloody point?
We need attacking minded CMs like kovacic, Ndombele etc., not defensive midfielders. In addition to this, if we are selling Toby and then moving Dier back there then our team is significantly weaker. Dier is far better at CM than CB and in any case, Toby is much better than him at CB. This is needless.
More accurate to say, we won’t pursue.Alisdair Gold says we're not in for him..

Don't think many of us on here are going to be fussed about not going after him. The quality of CM we are pursuing seems very bargain bin shopping.Alisdair Gold says we're not in for him..

This is a scout's report on him done pre-world cup :
I have watched Barrios a lot over the past couple of seasons and he has been developing into a key player for Boca. He operates mainly in the holding midfield role but rather than just being able to break up play - which he does very well - he also has great technical ability and skill on the ball.
A player with good balance and agility, he can float past players with a drop of the shoulder and astutely anticipates opponent movements.
Barrios is strongly suited to European football and I would be surprised if he stays in Argentina much longer. Colombia have a very strong midfield currently so it depends what approach they want to take into the group stages but I would expect Barrios to be involved.
Now it all makes sense, looking for value again rather than for a player that best fits our footballing requirements.
It was obvious with all those players where they were going to fit into the team. Please tell me for footballing reasons why do we need Barrios? Would we be after him if his price tag was £40m?In the bits I've watched of him since we've been linked, he has a burst of acceleration through the middle and decent control of the ball when running at pace, and he seems to decide what he's going to do with it quickly too. I have no idea if he's good enough, or if we even want him, but it seems that at least he's a progressive player. People have these weird notions that just because a player is aggressive and a hard tackler, he can't offer attacking qualities too. I don't get it.
Yup, blast us for making always looking for value in inexpensive bottom of the barrel players like Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen and Dele. A player costing less definitely means he will not be good enough.
