As one for the future and to maybe replace Perisic absolutely love the idea.

But not one to particularly improve us now or in a position that we particularly need right now.

Wouldn’t be my first choice. He has quick feet and a burst of acceleration for sure, but he profiles very similar to Solomon and if he came in he’d likely replace Perisic and I don’t want that as he really offers something different.

Would prefer a natural right sided player that can beat a man and deliver quality (not necessarily crosses) from the right side with their right foot. There aren’t that many traditional right wingers out there any more but we clearly need someone that can go round the outside with pace and be creative.

I definitely agree with what your saying as a whole, and 100% the public perception of going for Orban over Vlahovic would have much better optics for the player.

That said though, Vlahovic is actually only two years older than Orban.
So although they would certainly be viewed differently, in reality they would both be signing for the future.

Yeah that's exactly how I see it too, Vlahovic should be considered a long term signing, I get the feeling he'd generate a different response as we've both said.

Do you think this is why Brennan Johnson might be the one we actually target?

Why are people assuming he’d play on the left? He’s right footed and 19, surely he’d be pretty easily trained as a right winger. He’s got fantastic ability to beat his man which is something we lack, makes a lot of sense especially considering his age and potential.

I saw 1 clip of him banging a Bale/Di Canio style volley and so that's me all in to be honest.

You're basically describing Nico Williams.

FYI because he joined Leeds at 18, were he to sign for an English team he'd become homegrown for all Comps in the 2025/26 season.

He'd remain as U21 in PL Squad until then (ie not in our 17 Foreign quota).

In European Competition he'd be a foreign player for this and next season, until he became Homegrown in 2025.

So one season for us as foreign trained in Europe (if we qualify).

We have badly profiled Johnson if so because he's only good in transitions. Against a set defence from a standing start he wouldn't offer much at all.

Cheers don't know much about him, is Nico Williams on the market?

Should have trusted his agent to get him a better move initially then, or at the very minimum had a clause inserted for if Leeds were relegated. There was always going to be a good chance Leeds went down last year.

Can't stand players being defended for not doing the only fucking thing they're supposed to do. It sickens me.

Have there ever been any links to him? Seems well liked on here - can't say I've ever watched him

Think I saw some ITK linking us earlier this summer but not sure if it was on SC or Twitter.

Pretty much every scout/data analyst out there has recommended him as the perfect Ange signing for the wing forward positions because he can play both flanks, strong 1 on 1 dribbler, he's explosive with a good top speed too and he's pretty good with both feet. Tifo from the Athletic have mentioned him a few times as someone we should move for with good reason.

He is only 21 and is still a work in progress imo, can make poor decisions and be a bit inconsistent but I think he could really develop under Ange. Leads the way with Doku in terms of data surrounding players who are gettable for us.

I flat out refuse to believe this is a real person and not just a name made up as some sort of prank to teach us about the value of appreciating what we have rather than continuing on the hedonic treadmill.

Also, if we don’t sign him we are doomed to be relegated.

There will be plenty of games were we don’t dominate possession and territory and games were its similar. We’re still going to need players good in transition and players that can break the lines without the ball

Actually watching Johnson in the championship he got in behind plenty even when they had a lot more of the ball. He’s got good feet and can pick a pass. I’ve said it before but I’m surprised the majority on here think he’s poor. He would of stretched Brentford’s defence far more than we managed on Sunday

He could be our Gnoto guy this year.

Came across quiet well in this interview, sometimes with young players they can be led by agents/family into poor decisions.
Skill wish, you can definitely see his potential & how he could fit into an Ange team. He's comfortable with both feet & could play right or left side.

So he'd be backup to Solomon, who's backup to Perisic, who's backup to Son. It's a Gno from me.
