Hmm.. sacking Jol was all down to one man.
I didn't say that Daniel Comolli was solely responsible for Martin Jol's departure. I hope you're not suggesting that he was pure as driven snow in the affair.

The fans are innocent because not one of them were growing restless and calling for the guys head in the first place were they?
Are you suggesting that the fans are responsible for Damien Comolli not being able to do his job effectively, because we pressurising him in some way? In my opinion, that seems a little arse over head.

So the Dear Leader would have us believe. Ramos appears to differ.

What we definitely do have is a Hate Figure to be Aunt Sally for all the shit which would otherwise be chucked at the Dear Leader. Because nothing that goes wrong can ever be Lil' Daniel's fault.

That's very true--it was Comolli who took the heat at Juande's introduction, and by some accounts made a fool of himself while Juande charmed the journos one and all. Dany was nowhere to be seen--he had got his man, and presumably done things perfectly--though there were some "misunderstandings" that he had to lower himself to explain the grumbling masses in a carefully worded letter. Anyway, one would assume that Dany would have beeen there to soak up the credit but he was curiously absent while Comolli faced the (admittedly small amount of) heat for the Jol affair.

It's very plain from what Pontius said that if Juande fails to do better than Martin it's going to be all Comolli's fault and nothing to do with him. That was why he was so conspicuously absent from the press conference. There have been persistent rumours that he and Comolli were also at the Alfonso XIII and that Kemsley and Alexander were the fall-guys. And ever since he's lied, dissembled and prevaricated.

He's a charmless, mendacious, avaricious slimeball, and the image of him and Kemsley smirking at one another like the happy couple at a gay wedding whilst we were losing to Getafe is not going to go away in a hurry. What an utter ****.
