hope yhou are right.
I'm not convinced that we'll sign him though - in fact far from it, just convinced that Inter will be selling him.
hope yhou are right.
Was reading that Redknapp wants Beckham, Dawson and Ade. Tabloid stories always make me laugh but Redknapp is one predictable tool.
You would have thought that he'd learn't to keep his gob shut, because in the last 24 hours, his inarticulate bollox have him linked with every deadwood across the globe. Surely it would be best to drift in quietly, get the team picking up points before his obsessive need to self promote...
Somethings never change.
I suspect this will end in tears and we'll have him back on the MOTD sofa next season.
1) Not saying i disagree with all your points, but Levy has to take the blame if it goes tits up!
2) The fact we had to chuck millions and high wages, on players to cement a top 4, and make it difficult for the likes of citeh, arse, and chelski, is far from what im saying...all it really needed at that time was a quality CF and cover for both wings, which we have all been shouting to the roof tops for!!!
3) I find it strange, that the only time we make CL, we didnt go out and strengthen the areas needed especially in january when a second season in the CL was achievable...4) now before you go down the lines of whos available!!! the scouting has been absolute dire, why on earth are we not identifying players, and signing them at the start of the window is anyones guess, or is that now the case ie verts and sig?? hang on this must be the new direction project thingy i guess??
5) mate we will never agree, and we can both post long winded explanations as to what we both think, but 6) all ill say is we will have to wait and see, i listen to most pundits ex pro's on radio and tv, even ex spurs players, most of which are quite frankly baffled by this new direction of Levy's, now yep most are tossers, but dont ya think there privy to more info than what we get?? and i would hesitate to guess, they know more about the dealings at our club than the majority of us...and NO i dont take every word said as gospel, but the more you hear the more you can weed out the bullshit from the truth.
7) Now i have to say you are starting to come across as a very opinionated person, which is fine, but we all have are own opinions, and 8) time will tell if AVB becomes more succesfull, or he's sacked in February and 9) we gotta listen to another new direction bullshit statement again, 10) im guessing through no fault of his own its the later!
1) I agree. Totally. I've never said Levy shouldn't be judged on the success, or otherwise, of his decisions. I just don't believe anyone can be claiming this latest decision (hiring AVB) has in any way, shape or form been proven either a good or a bad decision. In this instance, however, you claimed he had completely fecked up, and I stated my opinion that until AVB is either proven a success or a failure, your claim is utterly meaningless.
2) Yes, but that presupposes that the players we needed would have been prepared to come to the club, and prepared to come to the club at the wage level we could afford without seriously jeopardizing our progress. That, I am afraid, is the sad, simple reality.
3) It's only strange if there was a queue of top level players lining up to come to us and prepared to accept a significantly lower wage level than they would get at established CL sides, while running the risk that they could be joining a flash-in-the-pan club.
4) I don't think the scouting has been dire. I think the way Daniel Levy has juggled his proper job, as chairman of THFC, with his assumed job of surrogate DOF has, inevitably, led to a diminishing of the effectiveness of player recruitment. I understand some folk find it confusing when I say this and then argue with them about specifics of his transfer dealings, but, as I keep on saying, most of the complaints are based on a mythology that has taken on a life of its own, and when I ask for clear explanations I get no answers. I am not trying to defend his transfer dealings, I said two years ago that he should stop acting as surrogate DOF and either install one or trust his manager with the purse-strings, and get back to being a very good chairman.
5) Fine by me. My explanations may be long-winded - but I'm on the Slip-Stream
6) Why do you say this as though you are unique. Not only do I take in all the same sources you do, but I do so in a way that I believe is particularly effective - because it is what I am trained in. I am always the first to point out that these are professionals operating at the top of their game, and when it comes to certain aspects of the game, I am almost always willing to defer. But when we are talking about the operations and interactions of organisations, any organisations, I happen to believe I have far greater insight than the average football player, no matter how good he was/is. Is that arrogant? Possibly. But I believe it. It is similar to when we have very highly qualified economists or lawyers who are members of the site dealing specifically with economic or legal aspects of the game. I, for one, will always ask questions that I think are interesting, but I don't doubt for one second that they know considerably more than me on the subject, and, for that matter, considerably more than most everyone involved in football. If it is concerning football, but a legal matter, would you rather listen to the opinion of a sports lawyer or Roy Keane?
7) I am very opinionated. Opinionated and willing and able to express my opinion. If I don't know something on a subject I will either make that clear, or simply not say anything. A lot of people are opinionated. You come across as very opinionated. Unlike some, I am not mealy-mouthed about it - if I think I am right I will argue my point. If I can see, by superior knowledge or debating skills, that the other person knows more, I will change or ameliorate my opinion accordingly. In this instance, I can't because no-one will answer my Moutinho-deal specific questions. And, on the wider issue, I do happen to believe I have an insight into the operations and interactions of football clubs that is probably a bit more sophisticated than most football fans. This is due to several factors. Maybe that offends, but, there again, maybe I am right. I am not a hippy pretending everyone is equally intelligent and therefore every opinion is exactly equivalent.
8) Again, time will tell, I agree.
9) I just don't get this the project BS at all. What do you have so much against it?
10) I just don't agree with this - at all. As per my original post, given the position we are in ATM, under the specific circumstances, I find it totally ludicrous to be talking in this way. In fact, given that this is inherently a transitional period, the players we have lost, the injuries we have faced and the nature of the matches (three out of the four theoretically hardest games of the season out of the way in less than a third of the season), I don't think we are in that bad a position at all. I think a lot of folk have been whipped up into thinking this is some kind of disaster by the press. I think, looking at it logically, there is everything there to believe things will gradually begin to get better and not that it is likely to get worse. That is my opinion, it could be wrong.
do you know what, i havent got the time to read long winded explanations to prove you are right mate...if everything you say is true, then quite honestly there would be know need for anyone to have a conversation with you...your not always right fella, we all have different opinions, we are not all wrong all the time!!!
