Another implication is that Franny Lee will probably have enough money to buy back control of Man City.

Football is decimated for this season/year.
Fresh start for next season.

I say we should quit the game and reload the save file for the start of the season.

It might be worth editing said save file first, to make Pochettino happier, and sneakily extend Eriksen's contract.

Hudson-Odoi tested positive for corona. Wondering how long this will go on before Boris Johnson pumps the breaks

Watford, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal now affected or maybe affected (players showing symptoms).
PL meeting today, likeliest is that they start by a simple pause in the league, before they later this spring might need to look at measurements such as straight out ending the season. Minority might argue for suspending the season already, and it might come to that, but it would be counter intuitive to start by suspending the entire season, rather than just pausing it.

Voiding the season makes the most sense. EPL games will be cancelled so that players and fans stay home and isolate. Players won't be able to come back in May/Jun and play 9 more games after no preseason and being out of practice, and then ruin the flow of the football season for years to come.

It's unfair on Liverpool yes, but it would be even more unfair on clubs like Watford who have a geuine chance of surviving relgation. Relegation costs jobs...

Yeah they'll temporarily suspend, then the suspension will get longer, then they'll cancel it.

I come from Hong Kong. Just don't underestimate this coronavirus. It would be disaster if they don't suspend the epl. Too easy to get infected if there is close contact (and unavoidable in the changing room!)

And for everyone in UK, remember to wash your hands. Wear mask if possible. Wearing mask is protecting yourself as well as protecting others surrounding you

wear a mask only if you have very mild symptoms and decide to still venture out ?

the UK is obviously very different to HK, different belief systems, cultures, interpretation of science

I understand the difference in cultures. But "wear a mask only if you have very mild symptoms" is especially not applicable in this coronavirus situation. One can be infected and have a long time before even have any symptoms. Hence, the virus can be spread before any symptoms appear.

But this is the general football thread. I will stop here.

on one hand I’d like to see a couple more games played so Liverpool win it, then have it taken away because all fixtures haven’t been completed- hows that for justice

or any scenario that would see West Ham slip into the bottom 3 and are relegated before all games are completed

and a one month delay to the season, the virus fucks off in time for HK and SHM to return and fire us into 5th and the CL in the June sunshine

cheers

you don’t, at least not quite. Read the mask advice on the NHS website. I quit here, too.
I’ve lived in HK and China etc so I’m not just reading stuff on the web.

Cheers, I lived in UK for 4 years as well. You are right. I love UK (I still consider Birmingham as my second city), but this is something that I don't understand.

Just delaying the inevitable (cancelling the season). There will be tens of thousands of virus cases in the UK by then.

I don’t think that is the inevitable. I think season will just get extended into summer, with International and European matches cancelled to allow this to happen
