Where do you think we will finish now?

5th. We will bottle it against Arsenal and the tough away fixtures.

Wish we had more resolve but hey ho.

Hindsight is beautiful but if the Chelsea fiasco hadn't happened last season we would probably be in a much better situation to get 4th again this year.

Some people who look at these stats and models and the rest of that bullshit, reckon whoever wins the Derby will finish higher in the league, so the winner of that match will be huge favourites for at least 4th place.

I think 4th or 5th. Don't think catching City is realistic, and I think Chelsea just have a bit too much attacking talent for us to overhaul them.

Chelsea will shoot themselves in the foot; and Shitty is also likely to do the same. So if we keep plugging away, good chance for 3rd or even 2nd.

I would say that if we win the Derby we will be huge favorites given that we are already 4 points ahead of them and winning would put us 7 points ahead effectively. If they win the derby, then it will be neck and neck and will depend on who gets better results in the run in. They would be narrow favorites if they win the derby but we would be big favorites.

I just posted a thread titled "Since the game at the Emirates", showing that in the last 14 games we've picked up 6 points on City and had a better goal difference. If that trend continues we'll be right next to them at the end, and tbh they look like they're getting worse not better.

They have Aston Villa in their next PL match.

If Villa can force a draw similar to how they did against Everton, it could be enormous should we win against West Ham (another big IF considering we couldn't manage wins against underwhelming sides such as QPR/Norwich recently).

If that were to happen, we can essentially pick up 5 points on Arsenal, effectively putting us 9 points ahead.

Chances are that Villa will get rocked by Arsenal as their defense is terrible and Arsenal's pace will only exacerbate that. But if Benteke/Weimann can show up like they did against Everton, they could net a couple against an injured/underwhelming Arsenal defense.

I doubt we can count on Aston Villa to get a result. My guess is they get hammered by 5 or 6 goals. Beating West Ham would be a very good result for us though. Aston Villa is probably Arsenal's easiest remaining game, so if we're still 4 points ahead going into the derby I'll be happy.

I like that table created by a liverpool fan on how they are playing the bottom half more so they have a better chance of doing better for the rest of the season than some of the teams above them.

you don't want to be playing relegation candidates near the end of the season, thats one of the main reason we did poor at the end of last season, the other teams wanted it more than us tbh. The best type of teams are the middle table teams that have nothing left to play for tbh

With AVB and looking how he is setting it up I worry more about breaking down teams than losing to the teams around us atm, I think AVB has got the way he wants us to play against the big teams sorted as it seems clear he is happy how those games went

I worry about us away from home. Ade made a big difference second half today though. Hopefully Defoe will be back soon too. Add Vertonghen and Kaboul in the mix and we should be alright.

Don't get me wrong i think we are a different outfit under AVB and i really don't think we will go on a slide like we have previously with Redknapp BUT my worry and as impossible as it sounds is we get 4th and Arsenal go on and somehow win the champions league  You can laugh all you want but we have some sort of curse on our club and it's something that you just know could happen with us. I praye the day comes when we get a bit of luck ourselves instead of getting f ucked over all the time.....e.g Dodgy lasagna ruining our CL place, a rubbish goal keeper in Fulop gifting Arsenal 3rd last season, Chelsea with the luckiest CL win in history which typically meant we lost out on 4th.......i could go on and on. Anyway, let's praye Bayern Munich do a number on Arsenal so it rules out any chance of it happening again.

are you joking? We have one of the best away records in the league and i have never seen a spurs side in my lifetime with such a good away record as i have this season, our away record is fantastic.

We're the only side not to lose at Old Trafford so far this season, and we actually won fairly convincingly. I like seeing their 11 wins 1 loss in the home table and knowing that it was us :D

I'm actually a lot more confident about us in the big games than I was under Harry as well though.

I think youve taken the comment wrong. I'm talking about our away record being better than Arsenal or Chelseas in the closing stages of the season. Weve been struggling for goals if you take Bale out of the equation. ie QPR and Norwich.
