It's the best spurs squad I've seen (watching since 89), the only one that comes close is the poch one a few years ago, when we still had walker. This one certainly has more depth, I'd say it probably has a better first 11 and coach as well. (Debatable)

Saying that, Liverpool and city are the best teams I've ever seen. I think the new signings wil be fine as well. Can't see past those two again.

So third. Chelsea are the only team that can challenge us, but who knows what they're going to be like.

Liverpool and City have only had each other to worry about lately. We might be able to ruffle a few feathers if we put a decent run together and then it's anyone's guess how they'd react to that.

Seriously, I think we can (and probably will) win the league.

We can and have always got at Liverpool. Without Mane against a weak RB we've had in recent seasons I don't see us losing to them either home or away. Diaz equaliser last season was so fortunate due to the defelction which sent the ball towards goal. Kane and Son are by far the best offensive combination in the league and will score against anyone home or away.

We've always been City 's bogey team and I don't see that changing this season. Haaland an improvement up top but with Romero at the back, we can and will nullify him to a degree.

The rest we can beat.
We will win the league!!

I put third but Chelski could still pull a few rabbits out of the hat!

Anything higher next season will be a fantastic effort

Would be lovely to get the silver polish out again

I know I'm sitting on the fence, but genuinely feel we could finish anywhere from 1st to 7th.
I'd guess maybe 3rd??
I'm confident enough to say I don't think we will get 90+points. So city and pool will both need to regress slightly.
If we get off to a poor start, then maybe Conte has a meltdown and walks.
What is likely to happen is, we will have a few less "unexpected" dropped points lik against Southampton and Brighton. But I think against the top 6 we will likely break even. Which I think might result in a top 4-2 finish.

For Chelsea, just don't know how Tuchel is going to set up with the players that he has. Last year he played with a striker and to AMs pinched underneath most of the time but that does not suit Sterling for sure. Early in the year, he played more of a typical front 3 with wide forwards. Tuchel is a good manager but I believe he will hurt Chelsea by over thinking things.

If our depth helps us against the bottom 10 while keeping our WBs and CMs fresh, I think we can challenge Liverpool for 2nd but it will take something happening like a couple of key injuries for us to overtake Man City.

I've put fourth, but I think we could be a better fourth than last season.

Ultimately it is difficult to say we will finish above the top two who have been miles better than us for recent years. Chelsea potentially but difficult to say at this stage.

I think we will do fairly well in the cups and finish fourth, close to chelsea. If we can win the fa cup it'll be a great season.

We have a much better squad now than a year ago. Conte is elite and has made a huge difference coming in.

If everything goes well I can see third being achieveable.

But, and I know I'm an outlier on this, I wouldn't be surprised if things don't go as wonderfully as we all hope.

Even the best teams can struggle to break down a low block. Conte needs to find a solution there.

I'm expecting a good season, but if we add a good number of points to our total last year, we'll be in a great place to really push in 2023-24.

I have put my money where my mouth is and for the first time ever I have had a bet on spurs winning the league.
I had quite a few winning bets last season (mostly on betting against the gooners - happy days), so

As far as the squad goes. I can't help but be reminded of the window we re-signed Bale. We were all crowing, and saying similar things to now.
Lots of talk about improving the squad etc. I do think this window has been great, and I'm excited by Bissouma particularly. But thinking back to the Mourinho window is tempering my expectations a little.
If we made a real "blockbuster, statement of intent" kind of signing then maybe I'd be a bit more confident.

I'm actually almost pleased we haven't had a blockbuster signing. Those haven't really ever worked out for us.

Bissouma, Perisic and Richarlison are such incredibly smart signings. They'll all hit the ground running.

Spence and Lenglet are more of a gamble, for different reasons. But an educated gamble and hopefully they'll do well.

I think City and Liverpool struggle to get 90 points this season and that gives us a chance. As good as Haaland is he's a very different player to Jesus and Sterling (guys who fit their system perfectly and were proven at this level). It'll take him time to adapt, and for his teammates to adapt to him. And that's even more true for Alvarez.

Likewise with Liverpool. Even though Diaz settled well and Nunez will be decent, there's no way you lose one of the best players in the world without it having a significant impact on your effectiveness.

We're the only team that hasn't lost anyone significant, and we've strengthened our bench. The gap will certainly be closer at the very least.

I reckon we will narrowly miss out on 3rd and finish 4th due to long runs in each of the cup competitions. A domestic cup double and a long run in the UCL ?.

I think Chelsea will pip us to 3rd, City will win the league with ease and Liverpool a comfy second. Arsenal will fall out of European places but their fans will be delighted cos of the age of the squad. Nonces.

Ok here's what I think, City and Liverpool have been at their peak over the last three years and football goes inc cycles where a team drops off and misses a year before getting back to peak again, check out Liverpool in their peak years and United under Ferguson.
City have sold sterling, Jesus and Zinchenko plus Fernandinho has gone which means they're on a rebuild, Liverpool have sold Mane and probably Fermino two of the three that made them the best strike force in the game.
Ok they both have replacements and so they're not great losses but it will make a few percentage points difference which added to the improvement to us makes it a lot closer, we pretty well matched them the back end of last season and with Conte constantly improving us along with the new player's strength and depth we are very close and possibly on par with them.
Also make no mistake about our mental strength now, that is a huge benefit too.
Because of all this I think we'll win the league, at the very least I defy anyone to dismiss us out of hand.

I think we'll close the gap to the top 2 but still be ~10 points off them.

3rd looks most likely but think there's a decent chance we come 4th if Chelsea can get their shit together and/or make some more big signings before the end of the window. As things stand I think we'll finish ahead of them, though.

Well compared to previous seasons and the constant changes or ‘reasons’, this time I hope it’ll be different.

Stadium - completed
Pandemic - over (kinda)
Top manager - Conte
Transfer window - smashed it
Levy - wallet open
Squad - improved
Gutless players - gone

So if there was ever a time where the stars have aligned, this is as close as we’ll get for the near future.

Top 3 at least, but top 2 for me.

I wouldnt say we smashed it but we definitely improved the squad. Definitely need another attacking player and perhaps another defender - that would be smashing it I think.

Unfortunately those gutless players are still here - but this will be part 2 of the window which will be predominantly outgoings.

Agree with most of this. I believe City and Liverpool will stay high up the table, though perhaps Liverpool could be 5 or so points worse off without Mane this season. I think they struggled in the end last season trying to compete in every competition, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them prioritise the league again this year at the expense of the cups.

Spurs should close the gap to the top two and hopefully can give them some competition. We need to rotate a lot for the league cup, with so many league and CL games crammed in before the world cup starts.

I think we will come 3rd, get to the CL quarters and win the FA cup.

I don't think there's any real risk at all of this window being anything like the window we sold Bale. In that Window we were trying to rebuild almost the entire spine of the team all in one go from a team that had just finished 5th despite being carried by one of the best ever seasons by a Tottenham player in history. Without Bale the previous season I don't think it would be unfair to say we probably would have finished mid table, meaning that was easily our floor.

This year our base is a team that just finished 4th (3rd if you only count the time after Conte came in I believe). The biggest loss to our squad is Stevie and he played a tiny part last season. Aside from that we've added competition all over pitch and the squad have had time to learn how to play under the most elite manager we've had in decades.

Even if we see very little success with our new signings we're unlikely to regress much but I think we can all agree that they're unlikely to be a bunch of flops anyway.
