I'm not missing the point. You're missing my one!! I'm using last season as an indicator to go by, not a couple of games at the start of this season. In terms of Swansea and how difficult it is to go there.

I know United went there and won comfortably, but its still a difficult place to go and they've started the season slowly, but they did win at West Brom last time out.

I just think people get carried away far too quickly at times after a couple of games. Anybody can win a couple of games on the trot. If Liverpool are top of the League after ten games, or close to it, I'll take notice.

For the record I do expect them to finish higher up the table this season, but talk of winning the League is wide of the mark IMO.

And all I was pointing out, is that Liverpool fans, understandably are happy, and the ironic thing is, those fans are talking about winning the league after not dropping points so far, yet we laugh at them, and talk about winning the league, when we've already dropped points.

Just the irony behind it is stupid, and just typical spurs getting way ahead of themselves again.

For the record I don't believe Liverpool will win the league, top 4 is possible, like for ourselves as well, top spots are going to be close, but real challengers won't come to light until after Xmas in my opinion.

I think some of it is they way they have written off Spurs and Arsenal, who are both probably more likely, yet assert themselves as genuine contenders.

We do exactly the same thing to them though.

Liverpool will improve from last season and be challengers to the top 4 this year.

I accept Liverpool will be better this season and I agree that either side isn't likely to win the League.

They've improved but we have been finishing above them for years now. Its like that's been completely forgotten after three games, yes three games!!

I still maintain that Liverpool don't have the midfield depth, that's there one area of weakness IMO. Injuries to Lucas or Gerrard and they're automatically weakened, then you look at the options we have - albeit we are fighting on more fronts.

Anyhow I agree with your last paragraph there, but still think well finish above them.

I don't get SCs seeming obsession with Liverpool, particularly with the more delusional element of their support as if we don't have exactly the same element here. Everyone has their nutters.

They'll definitely be right up amongst it with us this season, I don't think either of us are ready to be winning the title just yet, and would have us as having the edge over them at the moment, but they will have a say with the top teams this season I'm sure, particularly as they don't have European competition to balance either.

Looking forward to tonight's game too, should be a high quality game of football and will be very interested to see who 'wins the passing'.

Yes, totally agree. Probably what I've been attempting to say, not very well I might add.

Tonight's game is interesting. Certainly don't think its a case of Liverpool turning up and taking the three points that's for sure.

Nobody is obsessed with Liverpool. It's all just banter and be fair, they've been giving everyone reasons to laugh at them since they sacked Benitez. When we won our first four games a few years ago we were 3rd place for most of the season but let it slip at the end. We arguably had more depth in our squad that Liverpool have now so it will be interesting to see what they can do. If they keep clear of injuries then who knows where they could finish, I think if they finish above us though, it will be because we've thrown it away.

If Swansea is able to contain Coutinho like Man U, I think Liverpool may not be able to create enough chances. Liverpool had strengthen their defense so its gonna be interesting.

They also had loan Moses which will be a more direct player compare to Aspas. Overall Liverpool had good chance unless their midfield Gerard or Lucas gives way to counter attack.

But I like their arrogance.:)

Don't put yourself down Pinky, I get your point.

No not at all, by all accounts they performed well at United but just got hit by the RVP train, then they came to WHL and competed well - they'll give Liverpool a game and I fancy a draw.

Looking at us and Liverpool I think whilst they don't have Europe, I can see a bad run in them, 5/6 games which defines a season but with us I just can't really see a really bad run which is unique. We will drop points when we shouldn't I'm sure, but I see a group mentality which is so strong right now that it shouldn't set off a chain of results that fucks our season up. We can also go to any tough, bruising place and unleash our raging typhoon of a midfield on them - how nice is it to speak about Spurs not being our traditional soft touch?

Also, not shitting away 3 points at Anfield this year would be a good start to finishing above them again., nightmares from that game last year and Walker's errant pass.

How on earth can anybody who has any form of sanity believe that Liverpool have even the slightest chance of winning the league, it's so ridiculous it's beyond a joke!

I think they have a chance, about the same chance as the favourite usually has of winning the Grand National, so not a high probability, but a chance nonetheless. I think we have a chance too and so does Arsenal.

Absolutely this, spot on mate. I mean...we had people try and maintain we dominated Arsenal. That's deluded Scouse behavior right there!

I think their biggest conundrum is going to be Suarez, where do you reckon he'll play and will he upset the team focus? For me, I think it's a possibility.

Was just thinking about the exact same, ridding that soft under belly which always exposed us when the going got tough.

I think the Christmas period is normally pretty telling. Games come thick and fast, and most squads are stretched to the limit.

Looking at Liverpool's stand out ties in this period, they have City and Chelsea away back to back in the space of two days - ouch. They are also away to us the week before.

They've got some very winnable looking games coming up after tonight, so its eminently possible that they will keep up this good start which should give them a nice platform to build from. But as ever its a squad game these days and even with the Europa League to contend with I think we have the better overall squad.

Its interesting because the Europa League will actually help us this year IMO, as opposed to hindering our chances in League games. AVB, has essentially, trimmed the squad slightly but improved the overall quality of it by some margin.

This enables us to field a strong side in the Europa with more consideration for League games. It means we can involve players in and around the first team plenty of game time, whilst not reducing our chances of competing well in Europe. Then you have the bonus of players keeping up proper match fitness who are not starting in the League, so if there's an injury they can slot in to good effect from the off.

Overall this will surely create a better group spirit, where everybody feels involved and part of what we do - and feels like they have a role to play within the squad. Last season AVB didn't have the confidence to use his squad players and this impacted on our League campaign in the end.

Its clever management IMO. In reality he's improved the overall quality within the squad to compete on all fronts, with the League edging priority.

Its very, very interesting point Bear.

To get the best out of Sturridge they have to play him up top. I guess Suarez will play from the left of the three behind him. Henderson will be the one that drops out, or Moses will be a sub. So I would guess in a 4-2-3-1 it would be:

Lucas
Gerrard

Moses
Countinho
Suarez

Sturridge

But yes, he's undoubtedly one of the best players in this League but its possible it could affect their balance, and in particular the impact and influence Sturridge is having.

I still haven't watched that game so will remain neutral on that one...

But we've had people claim Hull's Tom Huddlestone is the English Pirlo, and I got lectured the other day by someone telling me Defoe was our best striker, so... Liverpool fans claiming they are in with a shout of the title sounds almost plausible up against those.

It's a weird one for me as I think one of the reasons they have looked a bit better is the play involves all their players rather than giving the ball to Suarez. Coutinho looks a player and Gerrard seems to be relishing being the main man again, Sturridge is playing well through the middle. Do you risk upsetting the apple cart for a **** like Suarez? Interesting one for Brent-an.

why do the liverpool fans on rawk always refer to AVB as Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas?
