Did you see Reina saying the other day that Suarez gets harshly treated because he's Uruguayan? It's not because he's a twat that most people don't like him, it's because we're xenophobes.
Yeah I hate those Uruguayan people, coming over ere, stealing our jobs. (n)

Yep. We should ashamed of ourselves. Until we throw off the blanket of hatred that we all wrap ourselves in, bwave bwave Luis and Pep will have to continue on and try and help make us better people.

Luis is really Ghandi you know.

My sympathies for those poor bastard Toffees having to share a city with this shower of ****s. Just think about that for a second. They wind us up enough and 99.9% of all interactions I have with LFC is the internet. They have to live in this sea of bile and swim through it every day.

I tip my hat to those brave souls.

They still have the victim mentality built in. It's a trait of the area.

The boxer Tony Bellew is a great example. He recently moaned after one of his fights which resulted in a draw ( plenty think he was lucky to get that ) that it was wrong he didn't get the decision because he the hometown fighter! He is scouse to the bone and a massive Toffee.

What would the British public have against Uruguayans? Argentinians I could maybe understand but..

Yes, I suppose by normal standards most scousers are pathetic whinging fannies. It's probably a good thing LFC exist really. A warning from the present where that mindset ultimately leads if left unchecked...insanity. Naked and uncontrolled insanity.

Must be something in the drink up there!

I've actually got a couple of London born Liverpool fans who seem very knowledgable and extremely complimentary to Spurs.

Must just be the locals who have the lost the plot

Theres a Liverpool fan at my work who I thought was quite level headed when it came to football, he wanted us to go all the way in the Europa league after Liverpool got knocked out, quite refreshing to hear, but then when Suarez got the 10 match ban he said it was a fucking joke and that he's now gonna stop watching english football. Another Liverpool fan at work said Suarez deserved the 10 games.

I think it's more to do with the keyboard warrior element tbh, every forum has them, they know next to nothing about football but like to vent their spleen. I know quite a few Liverpool fans from work, all STHs, and always found them very knowledgeable about their club and football in general

Arsenal drawing makes our game a must win for Spuds if they want Champions League next season.
They will really go for us

MOTD said Spuds looked leggy yesterday? This one worries me now, we could get truly hammered if we dont keep shape/discipline. Spurs at home needing to win - gulp!!

A draw would be exceptionally good news.I might even take a one goal defeat is you offered it to me now. (which sounds weird, but would mean we preserve our much superior goal difference over Villa and Wigan, which might just start to look dicey were we to lose 6-0)

Pinocchio seems to get the team up for the big ones! need a win to bury any relegation worries

at least Spurs don't have 3 big lumps in their front line to exploit our defensive frailties.

Hopefully Spuds will be nervous about this one. Either that or complacent. I sense another upset. Maybe a draw.

Yeah, they desperately need to win. I have a feeling we'll get something as well. Can't wait!

A draw or a win for Saints...Stay positive as I can

If Shaw's fit we may be capable of getting a draw up at White Hart Lane.

If Shaw isn't fit and we have to play Cork/Yoshida at RB with Fonte coming in at CB with Hooiveld then this could be an extremely humiliating defeat that could dent our (relatively decent) goal difference further.

Personally, if Shaw is fit I'd play Forren alongside Yoshida at CB, Clyne RB, Shaw LB with Cork and Schneiderlin in DM and a front 3 of Mayuka, Jay Rod and Puncheon. Just think Lallana has been absolute dog-sh!te since he's come back from injury and needs dropping to give him a kick up his arse.

Think we will get a point 1-1.

We have been brought back to earth with an almighty bump. Team will have had the stuffing knocked out of them. I am afraid we are going to get a right old spanking. Spurs 6 Saints 0. Sleepwalking to relegation and relying on Villa and Wigan to screw up.

Feeling v doom and gloom about this one. My spurs supporting housemate is going back to see this one for his birthday and he fancies an easy win for them too.Think we'l lose but hope we show something else then we did against wba.

We will lose! I would drop Jos & Lallana. Fox is out suspended. Fonte, Punch & hopefully Shaw in

One thing no one has mentioned is that 4 days after they play us is they have a "cup final for a CL place" when they have an away game at Chelsea (8th May). The winner of that game will get a CL place imo and they will probably have one eye on that game especially late in our game.

got a feeling this will be like Arsenal away back in September , Spurs will be up for it and really attack us and I'm not sure we have the fight for a game like that now. 5-2 Spurs is my prediction

Shaw is out. Won't be back until Sunderland at the earliest but I suspect won't be back this season unless we get dragged back into the relegation battle. Time to see what we've got in Targett.

I would expect Clyne to switch sides and Richardson to come in.

This is the kind of game spurs fail to win and with that implode their chances of Europe. It won't be easy but I think we can graft a point here because performances like Saturday are simply not allowed.

Three more performances like Saturday and we can all look forward to getting the slide rules out in the last 5 minutes of the final day. This game might end badly even if we play well. We won't be 150/1 for relegation after this one.....

Although I have no issue with Cork playing at RB as he was MOTM when he played there v Arsenal, I think having two players in a starting 11 playing out of their favoured position is a recipe for disaster in anyone's book, particularly when they're your two fullbacks and playing against the likes of Lennon and Bale. I say keep Clyne at RB and if Shaw isn't fit, then give Forren or even Matt Targett a chance:

Anything could happen. Saturday showed how vulnerable we are against pace and strength. We could lose heavily but might manage a draw.

Spurs are the best team I've seen us play this season I think. Their pace scared the sh!t out of us at St Mary's.

A Spurs supporting mate informed me yesterday that they will not beat us if they play as they did at Wigan. This was after me telling him they'd pulverise us if we repeated the WBA performance.
Got a strange feeling we'll get something out of this. Had similar feelings against City, Liverpool and Chelsea. Spurs don't have a direct style, they'll look to play it out from the back which should suit us. They are under big pressure atm and they know that any dropped points will see their CL hopes go up in smoke once and for all. And I think our players will have a fire cracker up they're arses this week in training, as Poch seemed fuming after the game Saturday.
We could easily get tonked, but I'm going Spurs 1–2 Saints. If Fulham and Wigan can go there and do a job on them, then why can't we?
Ref is Phil Dowd
We don't need to beat Spurs. A draw is all we need for survival. Sunderland will be a difficult away match and we don't want to leave it until the last match against Stoke who are the sort of tough nuts that we do badly against. So to play for a draw against Spurs, who's tails are up and desperate for a top four place, would be ideal. With Bale and an inform Defoe playing there are going to be goals in the game. The important thing is not to concede too many and hope Jay and Lambo are in form. Our goal difference might be crucial at the end of season.
What concerns me is that our gungho front pressing style might be taking its toll on the energy of the players. They looked knackered against the baggies. So keep it tight at the back fellers and aim for scoring on the break.
I repeat, we must not leave our keeper exposed as we did on Saturday. That would undo all the good work of the last few weeks.
Cork as full back and we are doomed, we become far too loose in the centre without him and Spurs will run riot. That said I do not fancy a CB playing makeshift full back against Bale and Lennon. Without Shaw I think we have a major problem.
PRICK ALERT
Now that we're out of the Euro fair play championship i'd have someone on the pitch with the sole purpose of injuring Bale in the first 5 mins. If we have to play 85 mins with 10 men then so be it.
Spurs looked a bit sh@gged out to me against Wigan and they'll be getting edgy about their CL chances which basically come down to beating Chelsea anyway. A pair of fresh legs might be handy against them.
Bale has changed his game and plays more down the middle these days. Of course he may switch again if he senses we have a weakness, but we have to deal with Lennon as well. Must keep Yoshi in the centre, and not make mistake of sacrificing him to LB again. Maybe best best assuming MP won't play Richardson at LB, is Cork to RB and Clyne to LB where he is just as good as at LB. We do have a definite problem against Spuds, their pace will punish us, but then most teams have the same problem. Anyone who thinks Spuds will have an eye on Chelski only should dream on, not much good thinking about Chelski if they don't get 3 points from us. Can't see anything but a Spuds win this weekend, and probably by 3 or 4.
Let's be honest, we're really going to struggle and it's a bit damaged limitation in my opinion
nope can't see that, we have our chances. Spurs are fading fast...clapped out no doubt. Dembelé might be out, he's quite influential for them I think, Holtby doesn't have the pace of the PL yet and I don't know what the status of Sigurdsson is just now. .
Regardless, they still have Bale and Lennon. Didn't know about Dembele, I think he's absolutely class, really rate him so will be a big miss if he isn't fit. I'm not ruling us out, but I think we're going to have to play out of our skin to get a result there.

The thing with spurs is that if you dominate the midfield then lennon and bale will drop deep searching for the ball so they will be in less dangerous areas of the pitch. I wouldnt break up cork/morgan partnership as that is a proven formula on the whole. Bale has played on both wings and through middle this season so we need to have fullbacks with pace imo. So if that means bringing in taggett then so be it (dont know if he is quick). No way will Richardson play. He has even appeared on training gallery pics in recent weeks.

1 - 3 to the mighty Saints, we only beat the top teams
smile.gif

With Shaw back, I would fancy us to get a little something out of Saturday.
Spurs have to attack, they need the win.
And that plays into our hands.

We're going to get hammered unfortunately, but fortunately as fans we're going to get hammered so it should be a good day out. Plus White Hart Lane is one of my favourite london grounds (well except for the hairy fu.cking walk up the seven sisters)

THIS IS NEWS TO ME:

I like whl too but don't forget they have microphones hanging from the stands going through the p.a so it's not as loud as they would like to believe!

I think we wil get easily beaten
4-1, and the some fans will explode

Although I don't think we'll go down, I can see us getting a hammering from Spurs, especially if Spurs play like they can and Hooiveld plays.

What about if Saints play like they did at Old Trafford, Etihad or Stamford Bridge?

LOL:

What, 2 defeats and a draw?

Doesn't help not having Ramirez and no left back - and also Lallana and Lambert out of form, a defence which has just been owned by WBA, and Puncheon seemingly frozen out?

I'm normally quite positive, and I really hope we can go there and get something - but I just feel that their pace will be too much for us, and we will get torn to bits - especially if we have to take Cork out of the midfield and play him RB.

Not sure what the mystery is, there are mics hanging from the top of the stand or at least their used to be. Maybe it's only the west stand but I definitely spotted them first time I was there and got the sense they were amplifying the crowd noise.

I'm almost 100% certain these are there to pick up abusive chants if there were to be a legal case against a fan.

I've never ever heard crowd noise coming out of the stadium speakers.
