It's funny because Dortmund spanked their bottoms in the CL and have spent peanuts in the least few years, and have nurtured and developed great talent. There are other ways to writing blank cheques. Having said that - shell out for a striker Levy, you tight fisted git! lol...

You have to hold onto that talent though, like we have to hold onto Bale. They lost Kagawa, now Gotze, and in the summer Lewandowski. Shame, they aren't going to be the team they have been this or the previous three years.

There's lots of stuff to genuinely dislike Suarez for, his over the top celebrations after the penalty he conceded for deliberate hand-ball was saved, his racist abuse of Evra, the way he argued and mocked the ref after he was questioned about the biting yesterday, but the biting itself comes under a slightly different category for me, it's looks like something he can't help, a kind of brain fart, and we all know people like that with their weird idiosyncrasies who just flip from time to time. Basically I blame him for a lot, but this I think is just a mental issue, like Tourettes or something...

It is a mental issue, but I distinctly remember one article, after the Uruguay handball, which came to mind when he gave away the penalty on the weekend. It talked about the defence of Suarez that was given at the time, namely that it was just an instinctive thing. Of course, as the article pointed out, that just means that Suarez's instinct is to cheat. It was true then, and has always been true.

I found this funny, from Bluemoon

I think you make some very good points.

Looking at both squads of players, there's really not that much between City and Spurs (perhaps overall City have more quality) so in theory matches between us should be fairly evenly balanced.

The difference is what the respective managers do when things aren't going exactly to plan.

Yesterday, we saw how André Villas-Boas changed the course of the match by reverting to "Plan B" and all three of the substitutes (Huddlestone, Holtby and Defoe) were marked improvements on the players they replaced.

By contrast, Mancini simply sat there like a man watching a car crash in slow motion.

City should have been much closer to Utd. He IMHO a very average manager and one the poorest man managers that has ever been in the EPL. For me they need to spend big in the coming months.

Really? I think they just need to replace Mancini...

Agreed. Mancini has never truly proved his worth as a big team manager. At Inter he was gifted leagues on a plate due to the fallout from the 'calciopoli' scandal. If he went back to Inter now and trumped Juve and Milan to the league I'd take it back, but he had all the money in the world back then, little to no competition and has now been given all the money in the world again.

What does that mean?

Nothing, it's management speak.

Levy's results have been 4th, 5th, 4th in the last 3 seasons. Of course if this were championship manager, he'd have signed higuain on 200k a week in January, he'd have scored 30 goals and we'd have won the league. Sadly, real life is more complicated than that.

Think that fan who predicts Bale won't be 'risked' is deluding himself. Wishful thinking (understandably) but I expect us to be closer to full strength on Saturday than we have been for some time.

6 posts on a potential massive game for them?
I can find many other Wigan forums so I guess those 6 posters must count for the whole population of Wigan ;)
