I cannot wait to binge this seasons All or Nothing. Triffic show really, i think the ending of this seasons show is meant to be a cracker. I have booked the week off as annual leave in excitement.

I have to disagree.... they finished 2 points behind us in the season just past. They had a thin squad and were blighted by injuries in the closing stages of the season. Were it not for Conte coming in we'd likely have finished behind them. They will be competing for top 4.

I have know doubt we'll finish above them this season but they definitely don't have a weak squad.
The reason they had a thin squad was all on Arteta. He mismanaged his squad so badly that he couldn't play some games because of lack of players.

Squad management is a real important part of football management and if you don't do it well you run players into the ground and/or let them go without replacements

Last year, they had no European distractions.

Now they get the Thursday-Sunday gambit.

Lets see where they are at the WC break. But, I think they will struggle with the extra demands this season, and fewer tactical training sessions. It still feels like they are not deep enough to cope with the extra matches, and just normal injuries, through the season.

Yep. Not only did they have no Europe, they were out of the FA Cup immediately. They also scraped by in several matches by the skin of their balls.

- 2-1 at home to a Leeds side down to 10 men having already been gifted a goal by the keeper
- 2-1 away at West Ham who were only three days clear from a European semi-final; Arsenal had a full week to prepare
- Last kick of the game equaliser and winner against Palace and Wolves respectively, both at home

Obviously no two fixtures are alike season to season but we saw United under Solsjkaer achieve a false 2nd place a few seasons ago that was largely down to Chelsea being totally shite under Lampard and Liverpool suffering a horrid injury crisis; I think Arsenal will be hit by a similar truth next year but their fans are either too deluded or too insecure to see it.

Right at the end Arteta says " what is more important - the journey or the destination?" and I assume he's asking this in a philosophical sense.....

...but....

...as a competitive athlete striving to reach the top of the game, a competitive club looking to re-establish themselves amongst the elite and a tribal set of fans that pay their hard earned money on tickets and merchandise every year whilst watching their biggest rivals eclipse them for half a decade....the be all and end all is the destination. It's the winning the cups, winning the trophies, winning the glory.

That tells me Arteta does not have a winning mentality.

Compare that to the quote that seems to be what made the penny drop for many of our boys when Conte take over.

"If you cannot win, you must not lose"

“As a club, we have taken the decision to strip sauna of the captaincy “. Surely that’s the managers decision not a club decision. Is he hiding behind the board?
