To summarise, we are no longer a selling club. We use to sell when players were too good for us, now we sell when they are not good enough for us.

Plus, they are no longer the great Man U, who only have to wink at a player for that player to come running

Thats the whole point! We are no longer the club that watch the Man Utds of the world in awe, as the role has been reversed where clubs are now watching us. Best stadium, training facilities, best squad etcetera etcetera etcetera

Throw a £100m at him.

Modern Man Utd's transfer strategy in one sentence.

Ed Wood Wood Wood "Hi Mr Levy. Kane £100m?"
DL: "No"
EWWW: "How about £100m?"
DL: "Still No"

TDD:

EWWW: "£100m?"
DL: "We've said 'No' twice now"
EWWW: "But..... £100m?"
DL: "Seriously, no"

It obviously worked for Pogba and Lukaku to an extent because they weren't worth it, but they seem to try it with players who are and fail. Didn't they try it with Bale too?

One thing that really annoys me about RedCafe is when you go in a Spurs related thread to see what the United fans are saying and it's full of Spurs fans in there!

EWWW: "$2.5 billion"
DL: *giggles* "Bingo!"
EWWW: "Ok bye"

Agree, if any of you are the Spurs fans on a Man Utd forum please stop it. Its just embarrassing.

I think you're better off just not seeing it as a "united" forum. They seem to have a 'supports' section on the avatar/profile bit, with lots of people who support all sorts, so seems to me like most of it is just a general football forum.
Possibly because it's one of the oldest ones about?

Still think he's overrated. Good goalscorer. Nothing excites me about him. (Everton fan)

I am genuinely baffled how anyone can have this opinion, especially this season where he’s been a creative force for us dropping deep and dictating play.

Staggering.

I'm know there are people that support multiple teams. Or have interests in multiple teams without any real affiliations. Where would you go to discuss Net Zero Spend and Groin Injuries? You go to an open forum not one that asks you a qualification question like "How many schools has Erik Lamela been expelled from?"

Redcafe is actually a good site, I can see the appeal tbh - good for neutral discussions on football and you get a range of fans from lots of teams. It's much better than Twitter and Reddit.

I've been reading it a bit lately and it's not that clear at all. The name is clearly angled that way maybe, but there are several sections of the site where Man Utd supporters are the minority. If you click on any of the 'football' links it has opinions and references from all sorts of fan bases.

Just from reading it recently I can see the appeal - there's less of an echo chamber in there. The lack of 'reaction' buttons seems to stimulate friendlier and more open debates too, and I've read loads of "I'm a Man Utd fan and I have a question" type posts in the opposing team's threads, rather than just casual opinion, which is actually interesting to see.

I only go on to copy and paste comments here. I don't even post on here too much as I'm pretty busy at work, but to be honest, most of the Spurs fans on there are pretty level headed, and end up having some interesting conversations.

That GlastonSpur is a proper WUM though and gives the rest of the opposition fans on there a bad name. He's pretty hated on there and for good reason.

I appreciate that! This is one of my favourite threads for that reason.

I'm interested in the back story behind his tagline thingy

I'm sure I've read on TFC that there's someone on there that is a bit of a WUM that is apparently on RedCafe too, so wonder if that's the same person. Not sure how easy life must be if you have time to post thousands of things over multiple forums though (one yes, many... hmm).
