Paratici is a big fan of 23-year-old USA international Weston McKennie, who he took to Juventus. football.london revealed back in January that Spurs' managing director of football had held talks with the players' representatives about a potential move in that window but it was deemed too difficult with the Italian club unwilling to part company with him at that point. The American is believed to have been above Bentancur on Spurs' target list for new recruits that month.

Paratici is expected to make another approach for the versatile Texan, who was a regular starter for Juventus until a metatarsal injury all but ended his campaign. He can play either as a box to box midfielder, a defensive one or on the right or left of midfield and reports in Italy have suggested

Can’t say I’ve seen a lot of him but he seems a lot like hojbjerg bentancur and maybe skipp, think we need a more attacking cm

Why is Paratici so so obsessed with this guy. Frustrating as he is just not the profile we need at all.

Wasn't there reports that he wasn't the most professional in terms of his diet? If he can't act professionally for a top club like Juve then not sure he would in bright lights in London

He's too similar to what we've got tbh.

We need a midfielder who can thread a pass.

He kind of fits the ideal profile of someone who can play either role in a CM2. I imagine its the flexibility that makes Paratici interested, rather than any one specific attribute.

Definitely would offer something different than what we have while being able to play in either a 2 or 3 man midfield. Very good attacking threat with both late runs in the box as well as being a very good header of the ball. Is more athletic then either PEH or Bentancur and has an engine that goes all day both defensively and then getting in the attack. If we feel we need to players that can play CM and offer tactical flexibility we could do a lot worse than McKennie and Erisksen IMO.

While not an attacking CM I think he would be the most complete Box to Box Midfielder in our side if we were to sign him.

I've been predicting that we will go for McKennie this summer. I can see Conte using two players that will have a lot of energy and are able to tackle as his CM 2 - McKennie and Bentancur would be good for this and allow most of the attacking play to come from the wingbacks.

Personally I would prefer a Ruben Neves type of player who can do what McKennie can but also thread the passes through but maybe that will cost too much.

I want Skippy to be our box to box midfielder.
Just needs to get his first goal and I'm convinced he has everything in his locker to excel in that position.
(I am incredibly biased when Skipp is involved though, love the lad).

I’m not sure he’s what we need in midfield, but a good player and one underrated aspect of his game is his ability to get up and win headers on offensive set pieces and also arriving in the box attacking crosses in open play.

Might sound dumb but with losing Gollini would be nice to have another vibes/team pleaser in the squad. He looks like that kinda fella in the Juve all or nothing.

Plus not a bad rotation option. As long as he ain’t gonna cost a boat load I don’t see the problem.

I was very against this signing last summer. I thought he looked like a grafter with a good engine but average technical ability.

I then watched the above and whilst it is a highlight reel, the one thing that stood out for me is that he seems a hell of a lot more accomplished on the ball than he did last year. Some of his one touch passing is incredibly well weighted, not something that was evident on the footage I saw of him last year. He also looks far more comfortable around the opposition penalty box than Hojbjerg (yes he has scored this year), Bentancur and Skipp.

So whilst I was set against his signing last year, I now think he looks like a decent player and I'd be happy if we got him in.

After we were linked in the summer I watched a couple of his games and I was impressed, he played on the right for the games I saw (RM and RCM) and he was incredibly hardworking, aggressive (but in a fair way) and most importantly very good technically.

I can see why we are interested, at 23 he is very accomplished.

Although peh, bentancur, Skipp and this guy is a lot of midfielders. Honestly would be happy with any combination on the pitch.

Would be another very astute signing IMO.

He’s more box to box than PEH & Bentancur and not as good defensively or positionally defensively.

Decent tidy player but he’s certainly more offensive than PEH & Bentancur, not sure why you think he ‘seems a lot like Hoyjberg, Bentancur and mabye Skipp, also all three of those are slightly different in themselves lol.

Anyways decent player, young with good potential, good attitude and would give us a slightly more offensive CM option, he’s no where near as creative as say an eriksen so it depends on what we are looking for but either could work in different ways.

Yeah I personally think he'd have a similar impact to Bentancur, and not necessarily in style but just how he'd be a level of quality that we haven't often seen in the centre of midfield over the last few years. Think he'd be a good signing and would up our level IMO.

4 CM’s when we’re in 4 competitions looking to go deep in all of them and/or win any that are possible and when there is a 5 sub rule in place?

That’s not many at all, it’s the minimum amount of CM’s we’d need.

Paratici and Conte obviously know him well so if they think he is a good fit for our side then that is good enough for me.
