I really like McKennie at that price. It’s all relative. The xG addition alone from having him on set pieces and corners, particularly against mid table and lower league teams, is worth 25-30 million.

That said, if this is the result of an N’Dombele swap, Kessie is a much better fit for what this squad desperately needs right now. If Kessie is legitimately available and ACM are interested in N’Dombele we can’t possibly pass that up for McKinnie.

So if we're looking for a dynamic 8 to play the Wijnaldum role (which to my mind we are), then this is the guy?

All of this “snack” crap stems from something Pirlo said in an interview last year. Comparing McKennie to Ndombele fitness wise is lazy nonsense. His fitness is good. He covers a crazy amount of ground and is more known for his effort and fitness than technical ability. Outside of Pirlo, he’s been universally praised for his effort etc. And none of that stopped him from playing 46 matches, out scoring all of Juve’s other midfielders, and covering the most ground in the CL.

If you read the comments from Pirlo, it says he was not professional when he arrived and that he did make the changes, losing weight in the process. CR took him under his wing apparently and I can't think of a better role model for how to take care of your body to be a footballer.

Why are people getting excited about the prospect of signing an American when we've just confirmed the staying of AmeriKane?

He could easily take Dembele's old chant to "Black Betty" (before the boring 'Seven Nations Army' chant) and for that reason I'm in.

I think we should wait until next season to sign him just so he can sign the dotted line on 4th July.

Is he any good? Or are people just getting hyped because he’s American?

I have absolutely no idea about the lad as a player, and I've no doubt you've already been answered by now anyway.

However. With the greatest of respect to our American members (there are many, but even they'll understand where I'm coming from) Could I ask, why on earth did you think people would be hyped by a link to an American player?
