Not a chance we would of won that game last year having been down to 10 men.. good work ethic if not the greatest performance.. Dier besides the goal, his body shape & concentration when defending is straight out of the top drawer, great start to his Tottenham career.. I think we might of snapped up a Gem.

Great start to the season.

Dier was excellent and what a composed finish.

The team showed fight, something we sorely missed last season.

We looked much better when Townsend and Holtby came on for Lennon and Lamela.

Although Lamela didn't offer anything going forward, he chased the ball a lot which was good to see. Lennon was sh*te as usual.

Going forward, MM is a must, as is another attacking player, whether it be a winger or a left sided forward.

Disagree. Think we found a nice little defensive option today!

I posted after the sending off that this would now be a test of character. Well the lads came through that first test really well. Not the prettiest game but we did not crumble and finished strong after an hour with ten men. This should help build confidence and give us a platform to build on.

There is much to do but you have to start somewhere. What I did notice was at the end we went for the game and Bentaleb got forward a bit, to me he looks much better when he does, and of course even Dier got forward. I think this is the more fluid football that Poch wants but it will take time to imbed in the squad and also they need to see it working on the pitch in order to fully believe in themselves.

Whoop whoop! Great composure from our new 'defender' Need to improve overall performance but it's early days and I'm sure that'll come, just pleased to bag 3 points, particularly against last seasons bogey team!

Very important 3 points.
There is still plenty to work on and plenty for Poch to think about. Players in training still show poor form on pitch and we can be lucky that Noble missed that penalty.

But it's a marathon blah blah and any away win is always a good win.
