Anyone ever got the train from Wembley Stadium station into Marylebone after a game? Is it any better than the post-match trudge up Wembley way?
I didn't have too much bother with it. Left on the final whistle... There's queues as ever but the stewards do a good job of controlling the line, and the trains are a good 8/10 coaches. Took me about 20 mins to get through it all.
If you're after bakerloo then walk down to Wembley central and get it from there.Hmm.... might give it a go on Sunday - looks like they put on a lot more trains for Wembley events... of course I then might find I can't get on the Bakerloo at Marylebone (walking to Baker Street might be a good idea).
What are the queues like at Wembley Central? I'm taking my little one tomorrow and really don't like the idea of us being penned in on the approach to Wembley Park. Any advice welcome! If you're after bakerloo then walk down to Wembley central and get it from there.
I used Wembley Central for Monaco game and as its about 15 min walk the crowd isn't too bad at all. It's a bit like the walk to Seven Sisters after a game at WHL.What are the queues like at Wembley Central? Going into London i presume? Wembley central is a bit of a march, 10 mins at a brisk pace, maybe 15 with the bairn. It's not as well managed but still better than Wembley Park. What are the queues like at Wembley Central? Walk 2 mins to Baker Street, much better. (If that's the line you need of course!)I'm on the close side (B gate) so tried it out Sunday. Took my sweet time walking to the station but still managed to get to Marylebone by 6:30 when I left after the whistle. Nice and quick, but then getting anywhere from Marylebone is another story ...
We tried it yesterday, but it was certainly no better than going back up Wembley Way to the tube.
I am in block 109 this year so had to walk past and with the Chelsea fans to get there. A lot came out being their usual gobby selves and one lad got seriously pasted in a resultant fistfight.
I went to and from WC yesterday and it was fine. It's a bit of a walk but nearer than 7 sisters and, like 7 sisters, no queue. I had done Wembley Stadium for all games last year- one where I was actually going out in Baker Street afterwards anyway- and it was a bit of a wait.
That said, my sear is on the end of a row in the lower tier so it was quick to get out. And I left right on the final whistle.
Wembley Central was a complete shambles.
Held everyone outside until southbound platform cleared, regardless of people going northbound. Staff didn't know arses from elbows either.
Problem was that they were directing people wrong. We wanted London Midland, but they made us go with Overground/Underground queue which was fine when we go there.I went to and from WC yesterday and it was fine. 2 rather different views on Wembley Central, I went there and did queue but didn't seem that bad. Don't know about southbound /northbound just queued till they let us in. I was going to Euston and definitely longer journey than from WHL as I would have got a train home at 7pm but had to wait for the 8pm. The difference was definitely the queue for the overground.

However, we were then told no London Midland through that entrance, so had to go along platform and out other side. We then went to London Midland bit, to be told no train for an hour and to go and get Overground to Harrow/Watford.
So having had an easy queue at first we were now stuck in a massive one the second time around.
What should have taken us an hour to get home, as it was for Monaco game, ended up at over 2 hours because staff at station were useless.
