Of the current England players, it would have to be either Upson or Heskey. Both are available for sale by their clubs, wouldn't cost too much at this stage of their careers in terms of wages, and would love to play for a team in the CL qualifiers. Everyone else either woudn't come to us or would cost too much.

I don't think I would agree with that. Spurs have a ton of money having qualified for the Champions League so paying for one of the England players isn't really the problem, the wages might be but the transfer fee for Cole, maybe even Carrick wouldn't be a problem.

If Manure were to part ways with Carrick as they have a decent amount of central midfielders with Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson, Hargreaves(if he ever gets healthy) and Gibson and Giggs if need be and a need to balance the books and not spend too much could lead them to part with Carrick. Carrick has played at Spurs, with Harry at West Ham and would love to stay in the Champions League so I could see that happen as well.

I know out of Cole or Carrick which one I would rather have. Carrick and Palacios would be brutal to get around and Carrick and Modric would form a nasty partnership because both are very intelligent. Even if it cost us 12-15 million I would be more than happy to have Carrick back.

Think if this was our midfield at the Lane....

Lennon Carrick Modric Bale

Saying all that you are probably right about Upson and Heskey being the two most likely to sign for Spurs but can you let a guy dream?

I really can't see anyone coming in as a relacement for Hudd. Especially as Harry showed so mch faith in him last season. He s the pivot around which the team work and can only improve. I have faith in Harry knowing what players we need to fill a couple of problem positions. Ie, striker.

I don't think Carrick is ready to leave ManUSA yet though....and he's on higher wages there that we would pay. I also don't know if I'd have him back at $15M. I'd rather find the new Schnider for that much.

Oh, and dream all you want :) I got excited when I learnt that Rafa left the bindippers, because that means it is more likely that Gerrard leaves them........and who knows, there is a chance (2% ?) he could come to us :)

I'd be quite chuffed if we signed Agbonlahor - he's pacey and also a good height at 5'11.

Feel with polishing off he can become a good all-round striker.
