does anyone else think we will still have players like hutton and bentley in our squad come the first game of the season? and possibly september? because at this rate, nobodys going anywhere, and no ones coming in.

i personally cant wait for the day where i hear 'spurs have accepted a bid from xyz fc for (hutton, bentley, jenas etc)'

as much as i wanna see some 'luxury players' coming in, i also wanna see some of our current squad piss off somewhere else

sunderland seem to be doing all of their business now, we have done sod all yet apart from friedel and all it's been about whether modric is going and other crap the papers enjoy making up.

i REALLY want to see some action very soon. we've been linked with just about every striker in the world and still we haven't brought anyone in.

oh and another point, why the hell did we sign steven pienaar? apart from the fact he was cheap. i want him out as well. how is he better than kranjcar?!

Your post lost all credibility with the last line. Pienaar will be an important player for us this season, and the comparison with Kranjcar is totally flawed. Whilst Niko undoubtedly has more technical ability, he is slow and his work rate is questionable. Assuming both would be just used as squad players, Pienaar is a much more useful option to bring of the bench when we are trying to hold a lead and press down the opposition, whilst Niko is more suited to being used in a starting role when either VDV or Luka are unavailable. The guy joined in January and was injured for most of the season, give him a chance. For the reasons listed above -1 to you.

I tend to agree with this. I also believe that if Kranjcar had greater mobility, he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet. In terms of technical ability he's up there with best, but if you are ponderous in this league, you're likely to be seen as a luxury that can't be absorbed.

Both Pienaar and Krank are good.

Pienaar is quicker and does more defensive duties

Krank scores goals (important!) and has a better touch

Seems like it is going to be very hard to find teams prepared to pay our asking prices for the players we don't want to keep. I know Levy is doing it in the best interests of the club, trying to get as much as possible for our players but it'll start to worry me very soon if they aren't shifted. If we are in the same position later in the window we will either have to lower our prices, look at loan deals or just keep them.

agreed. and wages are a stumbling block. some players are so greedy.

it is pretty ridiculous that levys trying to get so much for certain players. maybe he shouldnt have paid over the odds for players like bentley and palacios and learn from it

I hope we see the back of Hutton, Cudicini/Gomes(purely because we dont need three first team 'keepers), Dos Santos(never realistically gonna play), Bentley, Pavlychenko, Crouch and Defoe because he's overated.

The critisism of Pienaar was completly unfair. He's a good player, who works his socks off. He's just been unlucky with injuries. Remember the performance he put in when we beat AC Milan away...
