Let's take a look at it shall we.

The reason that Paulinho tucks his leg in is because he has to in order to make the contact. He's looking directly at Suarez, who is only a couple feet away from him, as he's going in for the ball so there's no need to track the run. Even if you disagree that it was intentional how can anyone possibly deny that the challenge was rash? His foot is high, the challenge is late, and contact is made studs up. If the roles were reversed and Suarez had made the challenge we'd all be screaming for red.

The alarming thing about that is that the referee isn't even looking at the challenge. That angle isn't the best to show it, but the one from behind Paulinho showed his head turned to his left, so he can't have seen it. He's made the decision to send Paulinho off purely on hearing Suarez cry and then seen him rolling around on the floor.

I think sacking him reflexively might send us back for years. That's not to say he shouldn't be sacked, but it just shouldn't be done reflexively. There's no point just sacking him, that's the easy part. Its the replacement that matters most.

But 0-5 is another shocking lurch into darkness. We're barely beating teams, ad then getting a pasting every 4th or 5th game. It can't continue.

As much as i love some of your post's this one is the most contradictory one iv'e read since.................the Citeh game.

If sacking him "might set us back years" just how much forward have we moved with him this season? He took over a TOP FOUR SIDE for fucks sake, and has turned it into a decent strikers wank fest. Some of those EL games were against sides that were put together for less money than the fee paid for Lamela, and half of Soldado.

Just look at the teams we are "barley" beating and those so called "top four" sides that we are quite shite against. All this and one hundred million spent. Beggars belief it really does.

Because we try and play the high pressing posession game, yet signed a load of box to box midfielders that cant pass, silly really.

Indeed, if the thinking was that a couple of players who are decent passers makes up for not having a playmaker then it was catastrophically wrong. Could and should have spent the same amount of money we did on Dembele and Paulinho on Moutinho right at the start.

1st half was terrible but the response at the start of the second was much better. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if paulinho wasnt sent off. its obvious that the 1st half performance wasnt up to scratch but you have to admit that the red card impacted the game significantly.

The defense is similar to the teams of the mid 90s in that we our conceding five, its just we're not scoring 4 or 5 at the other end so there is nothing to hold on to as a supporter. At least in those days when we were mid table we scored some goals and the games were entertaining and we at least gave it a go.
