I probably wouldn't have been fully behind us signing Jota in the summer, but with Son excelling in the no.9 role and Perisic out for the season, I think this would be sensible business in January. Shame we can't sign him now, while Solomon is out.

He has a very healthy goal & assist return from both flanks, so could be a useful squad option even if he's not good enough for the starting XI.

Personally I'd be worried about him basically not playing between now and January and I also question the footballing ambition of players of his age going to Saudi.

If its a loan then it's probably relatively risk-free. But I wouldn't really care if we didn't get him.

Hmm. The Saudis offered a lot of money, not just to the player, but also to Celtic. Too much money for Celtic to turn down.

Not sure if it's about the players ambition.

I guess selling him for a loss might not be an issue to them, but not something we would normally see, especially as he just signed this year.

But agree, I would be happy with a loan and then see how he gets on. We will also get Solomon back at some point also.

I think it's fine if people choose the money. It's money over football but I get it.

I'm fairly certain I'd do the same.

But if we're bringing in someone as an impact squad player then they need to be ready to go on day 1.

Someone who has gone for the money and who hasn't played for a few months isn't that player.

That's my point though, did HE go for the money, or were Celtic made an offer they couldn't refuse?

Neves also wants to come back to the PL, if reports are true.
