Many will have you believe that Tottenham have spent and will spend money on promising peices of rubbish this summer resulting in them failing to qualify for the Champions League, maybe even failing to qualify for the UEFA Cup, this folly will only be bestowed because it will be designed for the amusement of others. Let those who sit in their suits wearing silly head phones in the Sky Sports studios bestow false accusations that our players are there for just the money, Ramos hasn't a clue and it looks worrying for Spurs. It is best to not listen these people, it'll only lead to start being pessimistic, we are a great club, when you're great you know that you don't have time to think negatively nor listen to any negativity.
Two losses out of two games is never a great start but we have not been sunk, we're still a float, we have some damages which will be repaired, our two main guns are a problem at the moment, one as been lost but will be replaced whilst the other has a current technical fault and cannot start, a decision will be made soon as to whether replace it.

We now have a massive test on Sunday of next week, there are many that think that we won't win, we even won't get a draw, but I do think we can get something from there, joking a side when Nelson knew he was out numbered and argubly out class did he start to whinge, moan and be pessimistic? This is a completely different scenario but the point I am making is that regardless of how much the odds are against you you don’t say it’s over before it’s even begun. You have to remember our past two meetings against this lot. You may argue that we don’t have two of the players (Berbatov and Keane) that we had who played a hugely important role in both matches, but let me tell you that during the sixteen year unbeaten run Chelsea enjoyed against us their team changed a lot.

As Poyet said today "With only one striker 90 minutes is difficult and it is not the kind of game we want to play.” We will get another striker or two, it’s not if it’s just when, yes losing the two games we have are very disappointing but how can you blame a set up that was forced into the sale of Robbie Keane, tried their best to deal with some Russians who wouldn’t budge and a sulk who, whilst having been a great servant has acted in a disgraceful. Remember what Levy said, “….when a player's head is turned and their commitment is absent, particularly when they occupy key positions such as that of striker, they become a negative influence in a team dressing room in which they were once a positive addition and influence.” Whilst leaving your best player out is never a great idea I think Ramos was right to do so today.

The one thing that we should all remember, regardless of how bad it sometimes gets is this, we are a club that is still the only club to have retained the FA Cup twice, we have the greatest start to a top flight season ever, we’ve been victorious when no one said we would be, we have done things that most clubs can only dream of and we've shown this country how football should be played. And why is that? Because we are Tottenham, and I'm sure our boys will make sure that people won't forget that this season, things haven't started great and I can fully understand your frustrations and fears but it's not if, it's when our fortunes will change, when they do we'll show what we are made of, maybe my espectations are high but my confidence is high as well, we will see a change in results sooner rather than later.

I might end up being wrong but I can't see that happening tbh.

How many forums are you going to post this on?

It hardly matters as not everyone is a member of multiple Spurs forums.

Added to that the fact that it is a decent piece of well written prose instead of the "sack Ramos now!" garbage that we have been getting lately.

Good post Ginola, and agree with your sentiments and optimism. God knows this place needs a serious injection of optimism. I don't think I will be able to handle this forum if we lose at Chelsea (which I believe we will). I'll probably take a week off from SCEek

Nevertheless, I still expect a good season from Spurs this year. I fully expect a big improvement of 11th place and I would like to think we will still qualify for the UEFA cup again.

Well, I was right about two things, without wishing to crow about, we got something at the bridge and we've brought in two strikers, good ones of that.
