I know we are data driven but surely the data needs to be over a larger sample size than just the start of a new season

Its a very curious case. I have watched Guirassy play a few times, once live in the stadium. There is something about him that makes me feel he really stepped up. He plays clever, has a good presence up front and defender can just not control him. He might stop scoring nearly two goals a game but at 15m its a no brainer in todays business. Right now he is injured so will be interesting to see if he can continue with this kind of form. Lots of goals he scores are real beauties and not only easy tap ins. A yes for me.

I'm worried about the team during Asia cup/AFCON.

We might cope without Biss and Sarr if Bentancur is back to his best with him and Hjoberg together.

So is too important and no onelsese is at his level.

On that basis I'd bring in Guirassy who looks experienced and has ability. Coming from Germany usually is better than other leagues too. L

Looks a no brainer at 15m. Whether he'd want to come here would be the issue though.

So, you'd sign someone who's going to AFCON, to cover the shortage during AFCON 🤨

Plus he picked up a thigh injury at the weekend. Though one assumes that would be healed before January.

Looks an interesting player this season for sure and I’m sure Stuttgart are expecting plenty of interest in him come winter, as he has been key to their excellent league form.

Its not just 15 mill though is it, its a squad place and wages.

If he turns out to be a dud, he just joins the long list of players who we aren't good enough but we can't shift. Lloris, Ndombele, Dier I'm sure we would be happy to let go on a free, but no way in hell will they leave unless anyone matches their current deals which noone will do.

If we go for him because he has been thoroughly scouted and identified as the best option for the position: great, sign him up.

If we go for him cos he's cheap and as a bit of a punt, it's a massive risk.
I don’t disagree at all. Wages have to be taken into account for sure.

Even with thoroughly scouted and identified players we’ve ended up with a fair few duds, as you’ve mentioned with some players above. I guess that’s the nature of it.

And I’m absolutely not suggesting Munn, Lange etc shouldn’t be doing due diligence.
