Not in Fulham preseason squad for their game tonight . Imagine his deal somewhere will accelerate this week - I know we haven’t been mentioned in a while

I haven't seen him play at all in all honesty, what's he like? Is he a clear upgrade on what we currently have in regards to Dier, Sanchez etc?

If it's in addition to vdv or tapsoba I wouldn't be mad. If it's the main signing or he comes along with lenglet for example I will be pissed off. Would still prefer vdv and tapsoba.

Maybe a HG centre half allows us to go foreign in another position

Edit also seems obvious now fulham are going for bassey or salisu

He's an upgrade on Sanchez and Rodon. Probably a better option than Dier if he doesn't rediscover the form that got him in the WC sqaud, but arguable if he does that Dier is actaully better on form. Fine for a HG 3/4 option, huge issue if the only one we sign. IMO, obvs.

According to stats on FBref he is good at progressive passing and good in air, bad or average at everything else.

I admit I haven't seen lots of his games but the ones I have seen, he's a big upgrade on Dier, Sanchez, etc.

I watched him more under Parker than I did recently. Back then I thought he grew into the role, when he was brought in after promotion he looked a little shaky at the start.

Mobile and decent on the ball but it's been a while since I watched him in a full.match

Think we really could do with a HG alternative with the situation of GLC, Ndom, Reguilon, Perisic, Pierre, Dav or Gil not being sorted.
Especially as we probably need to replace Kane as well. Hope he has the necessary quality if he joins.

I know why Levy likes this guy...

As he sounds like a player you add on to do a deal.

Levy: "Tosin Adarabioyo and you have yourself a deal!"

:sneaky:

This just reads like we are just looking for opportunistic signings with little to no plan to support the manager.
If he's our main signing at cb I agree. If not then I dont see how you can arrive at that conclusion. Ali g has linked him all summer along with the others and he's also pretty good as far as I've seen

As far as I can see he's got the right stuff for what we need. He's one of the fastest CBs in the league and decent at duel winning. Plus he's pretty comfortable on the ball. If he can be coached well for the system he could be a very good fit.

Quite a simplistic measure, but I do really like the fact that he's both good on the ball and big/dominant in the air. I feel like that could be really important for whoever partners Romero, especially against physical teams that lob the ball into the box.

I do worry that VdV, for all his height, speed and nice passing, has absolutely rubbish aerial stats and, given Romero isn't exactly dominant in the air, I think this could cause us problems in certain matches if our CBs can't do the basics.

Ironically, it's actually one area Dier is really solid. And while I'm not for a second suggesting we play Dier next season, in the PL you need your CBs to be able to play football AND defend the box otherwise you're just trading one big weakness for another.

Whilst not doubting his potential, it will be typical Spurs, to sign him first after weeks of negotiations with VDV

A Fulham season ticket holder I know says “you don’t want him, he thinks he’s a lot better than he is”
