Top four finish?

I put a tenner on us to win the league at 150-1 - I'm pretty certain we'll get top 4 and think we have a genuine chance at the league. Man City have the wrong manager who's bought the wrong players. Wenger's been at Arsenal too long and they have a dodgy defence. Chelsea's failure to get Stones is showing - Terry and Ivanovic are finished and Zouma is inexperienced and Cahill's never been good enough. And Van Gaal and Man Utd are an ill fit and he's had a scatter gun approach to bringing players in.

We look more defensively solid than any of them and have a young and energetic squad and a manager who's implemented a system the players believe in.

Said that back in September - the signs were there. Still think Man City are favourites but for all the obscene amount of quality they have in attack, without Kompany they'll always concede goals.

Am I the only who feels that now we are fourth I am not satisfied. I feel that we can go up to 3rd or even 2nd. In a funny way if we were only to get fourth come May, I would be disappointed. Sounds irrational I know, but what fucking difference the last few months have made.

After blowing that 11 point lead under redknapp I'm not giving anything for granted.

I think it's going to go down to the last day for every major decision in this league. Except for Villa getting relegated. They are as good as down.

Not sure how anyone can say we're not in the run for top 4.

We're not in the run for top 4.

I said it but I don't believe it :)
I'm moving around my rolls of fat on my body to see the best place to get "league champs 2016" tattooed

Out of all the team to have played 10 home games this season only Newcastle and West brom have less points then Everton

This game is ours for the taking

Plus they haven't rotated in the 2 games in the last few days and today would have been exhausting for them losing in the last minute. It's a big chance for us.

They'll probably be without McCarthy and Jagielka - who's been out for about 8 weeks now. Those two are a critical part of their spine - so its no wonder they've been leaking more goals.

Think they'll be goals at both ends, a score draw wouldn't surprise me but a win would be amazing.

Keep think of being title contenders. Then I suddenly remember one thing. Europa bloddy league. If we are up the competing in Feb, I hope we send in the kids completely for that then

We have the squad to compete on both fronts IMO providing we get a striker.

See those players that everyone is moaning about in the match threads who can't get game time, they're likely to play in the EL.

well least we are nearly safe;)

today was one of those banana skins and thanks to goal line technology (cause it would of been given knowing our history) we managed to nick the win.

we have 3 tough fixtures in January (going by their league positions, or history): Everton (a) never an easy fixture , Leicester (h) won't write them off till it happens and at the moment it's a 6pointer, Palace (a) having a good season, and will be as tough as todays win.

February: Watford (h) will not be a walk over, Man C (a) hopefully Kompany will still be sidelined, and Aguero not hitting form, and Johnathan Moss not the ref. Swansea (h) could be tougher just after Florentina

March: West Ham (a) could be a tougher task especially if they have all injured players back, Arscum (h) it's never an easy fixture

then comes April: Liverpool, Stoke & Chelsea away, with Man U, and WBA at home.

it is vital to try and buy in January to give us more strength in a tough run-in, which could include an FA Cup run and progression in the EL.

Arscum's last 7 fixtures in the League only has 1 tough fixture in it, Man c (a) and however much I hate them, they always go on a strong run once out of the CL, and also after we have played them. the only good thing is most of their toughest fixtures are away games.

to feel confident of winning the League, I'd want us 7+pts clear of them mid April, though at the moment I definitely feel 3rd place is very likely

Maybe Wimmer but I don't think CB's need to be rotated that much anyway.

Hasn't this season proved no easy fixtures? Just as likely to lose at home to Watford and win away at Liverpool

So now we aren't playing the reserves and whilst Arsenal players will be relaxing we will be God knows where on a Thursday night playing shitty footie coming back to play Sunday. If we have any chance that will fuck us

We could go out though against fiorentina, hopefully we don't but if we do then it's less games.

Wrong attitude, I think we should be aiming to go all the way in Europa too, we are more than good enough this season and I hope Poch treats it seriously as well.

Providing we're using the squad I agree. The likes of Mason, Bentaleb, Chadli et al should all be used in the Europa League. Have to use the squad as fatigue becomes more of a factor the more the season wears on.

Yes, I think if we use the squad properly we will be fine, the likes of, Wimmer Son, Chadli, Mason, Bentaleb, Pritchard, Carroll can step in when required.
