Thing is, if referee's notice it, he risks getting booked/sent off for doing very little.

Lucky boy, it seemed deliberate. But in no way was it a "stamp" - a stamp is something completely different.

Agreed. It looked bad, but it wasn't like the kind of stamp John Terry would be capable of. More of a little little love tap - 'that's for slide tackling me you ****'.

LOL

If you have ever played the game you would know that when people slide in on you, you can often get injured landing arkwardly. Personally, I have often suffered this fate as a player. As you learn you see it as sometimes sensible to actually fall on the the tackler rather than attempt perform a gymnastic manouvre to avoid them. In this case Hudd passed the ball just before the player came in but Elmander came in anyway. I have no problem with Hudd's evasive action but would have landed on his knackers instead. As they say 'stay on your feet'. Clearly the officials had no problem with it ......gravity says that no matter how high you jump you will eventually come down somwhere.......slide tackler beware:whistle:

Very lucky. Both that and the elbow incident were clearly intentional, very surprised the FA have taken no further action.

Only Huddlestone knows if there was any intent—unless you happen to be a mind-reader, of course, as some of us apparently are.

He has now been very lucky twice - the elbow and the stamp. It certainly looked as if he meant both of them.

I think he meant it. He's always had a nasty streak. I remember him coming off the bench for England u21s and heading someone within minutes and getting sent off. Class player but definitely a hot head. The elbow v Twente I think was unintentional (at least in terms of where it landed) but this was very deliberate and I'm glad he's got away with it.

He wouldn't have landed on him...and it was a kick-out.

Embarrassing. Both his actions and the decision.

He stamped on/towards De Jong last season as well. Mind you, that shouldn't be a crime.

Yeah. Seriously, can anyone explain why it was definitely intentional when it's so ambiguous looking?

I admit that if it were an opposition player I probably wouldn't have bothered to look at it very closely (or it were Sami Nasri I'd have assumed the worst) - but it isn't, and I did.

Everything about it suggests he deserves the benifit of the doubt. Woe-be-tide him if does genuinely stamp on someone in the future though.

Actually, there's an upside to this mini-furore... Regardless of what you think about his arm-swinging against Twente, he shouldn't have done it.

Maybe the scrutiny he's been put under here will force him to wise up and curb his temper.

I don't see theis action as aggression more stupidity. If only he could get a bit of Palacios about him what a player we'd have on our hands.

From the moment he came on, he was constantly being impeded and fouled when off the ball. He had a quite a few tussles with Bolton players who were trying to stop him from moving into space.

As the rules stand he should probably have been red-carded. As the rules stand, Bolton should have received a number of yellow cards for all their cynical fouling of our players, including those off-the-ball incidents. As the rules stand, Bolton's first goal should have been disallowed for off-side.
