Poor use, not because it's Spurs, but because the Ref admitted after this game that his decision was wrong.

I saw that and wasn't too happy with the picture either. Would seem more appropriate to use one of the many occasions you see Terry screaming at the ref if they wanted a picture like that

Rigth decision or not players should not be surrounding the referee.

I wouldn't worry about the Spurs pic, they had to choose someone.

To be honest we are one of the best sides for this kind of stuff. We never crowd/harass the referee, this was a genuine injustice (Man Utd game yes?). Otherwise our players are good pros and Im very proud you never see our lads doing what Chelscum did in the CL Barca game to the poor reffo.

BUT if we had there would have been massive fines and bans, Chescum get a slap on the rest and bans that were quickly rescinded for Drogba and co.

Disgrace.

What annoys me is they bang on about managers and players not criticising the referees and the penalties that are enforced on them, but still, fuck all happens to the officials that make the ridiculous mistakes!

Maybe they get demoted for a week but that is not enough, if I made such massive errors in my work my boss would fire me!

We already have a massive problem in this country with no one wanting to be a referee. I thought about it for a while and was willing to start from the bottom and work my way up. I went to see my brother play in his pub league and the abuse the ref received was beyond disgusting. No respect at all and he hadn't even made any bad decisions!

We need to recapture the culture where the ref is respected and supported by the authorities not punished for every bad decisions.

Sure the refs make mistakes but the players do as well and their not man enough to admit theirs and like many fans act like pathetic little bitches and blame someone else.

It's a fair point and I do agree with you. But I still think that the refs who make the massive clangers, not their every mistake, should be punished.

Or if not punished the managers should be at least be able to say, "the ref cost us the game" without getting into trouble for it, if it is in fact true.

But like you mentioned, I really wish we could have the rugby ethos where the ref has the final say and people respect it, whether or not they think he is right.

And our players don't exactly look confrontational either, Woody is gritting his teeth in quite a camp way (actually it's Luka's wrist that looks a bit limp), Charlie is in disbelief and shocked as hell but doesn't exactly look threatening does he? I think DJS would come across much more intimidating people at his gym...

Of course they should have used that thug Terry and his cronies.

clicked the link and there was no pic of spurs, just Eduardo's injury.

The problem with so many of these new rules is that they are firefighting measures.

They should introduce more match officials (2 umpires at each goal) to help dilute the influence of the referee and allow for more accurate decision making.
