Be happy with Berahino. Would be our defoe replacement. Could go on to be a better player though
Defoe was poor as a lone striker so if Spurs get Berahino it would be as a LWF I presume....

JJ said it's up to him - whether he wants to stay as a squad player, or leave in search of football.
IMO £8m is a decent fee for someone who hasn't performed for 2.5 years and who has a chronic hip condition
Mostly that hecwas arrogant. Got a smack off another player at half time when he lost the ball causing the other team to score. Had some laughing gas and got caught drink driving.
Was voted players player of the year for them last year. So he can't be that much of a twat.
Defoe did quite well for us and over his career has scored 128 in 380 premier league games...if only he could have overcome the drought periods. But costs 20m more for a similar player who will never be in the top echelon of forward players. Just like Defoe... Played like Defoe, reminds me of Defoe, might as well have the real Formica not something like Formica as George once said.
You know he isn't exactly Defoe rightDefoe was poor as a lone striker so if Spurs get Berahino it would be as a LWF I presume....
Perhaps, but Walker and Lennon have ticked a couple of boxes on that list over their spurs careers.
If Berahino wasn't a young "English" (Burundian) striker, then perhaps the discretions would be given less attention.
Everyone makes mistakes, it's how (or whether) we learn from them that should define us.
exactly. if he was saidogo berahinho SC would be creaming all over him
My only worry is would he want to be back up to Kane. He could play on the left but he is mainly a central striker and would probably want to play there more often than not.

Kane very good when he drops deep too so chances are he'll play some games at number 10 when his influence is required around the middle. I'd take Berahino. Exciting potential, a goal scorer, and minimal risk financially. We'll always sell him on again. My only worry is would he want to be back up to Kane. Usual football thing all off field behavior is forgiven or forgotten as long as people believe you perform on the pitch. Thus we have idiots like Suarez getting huge moves despite going round biting everyone.
Hopefully you are right but we are in the middle of trying to get rid of all our problems. Should we take an expensive chance of bringing in another one ?He got attacked for losing the ball in a game.
He did some laughing gas which
nearly everyone in the country has done at one time or another.
Yes he was drink driving, which was dangerous and stupid. He has been punished for it.
Remember he is a very young man with wealth and fame thrust upon him. Give him time to grow up and learn from his mistakes. Which by all accounts he is doing.
You should have seen me at that age i was getting into fights every week and banged up. Kids are fucking idiots. But they grow up mostly.
The guys a liability.
