Oh my fucking god. What a fight. Absolutely incredible fight. Hooker and Poirier. Tough as nails. Amazing fight. And VERY close but I think the judges got it right. Hooker ran out gas just a bit more after that amazing trading of knockout punch for knockout punch in the 2nd round.

Superb fight but I had it a little more one sided than the judges, 4-1 Poirier. Gave Hooker the first round, then Poirier took the rest, 2nd round was close but he was landing the heavier cleaner shots for me. Experience at the top level told, Hooker needs to go back to the drawing board somewhat, he’s far too hittable. His loss to Barbosa was pretty much the same, his striking defence is basically non existent. Poirier actually rolls with the shots a lot more, and is generally just a much more technically proficient boxer, even if he decided to go a little nutty in this one

Perfect for Masvidal, ready built excuse if he gets wrestle fucked. I think it was in large part a fear of this that made him so rigid in negotiations initially. Masvidal understands that he’s at the apex of his fame and needs to pick his next handful of fights carefully to maximise his money. The reality is that his stardom outweighs his CV. Now, if he loses, he will have been able to play the underdog coming in late card, and it won’t damage his star power so much going forward.

And of course, there is the possibility that he can land something flush and come out as champion

Without a doubt. I mean I'm not saying Burns wouldn't put up a good fight, but the bad blood between Masvidal and Usman as well makes it mouth-watering.

I've enjoyed Masvidal since his overwhelming win against Till, he returned with a real fire in his belly. This fight is going to be immense, as well as the Yan vs Aldo fight.

Not to forget the super stacked ladies fights too, Paige making her comeback will be interesting.

Is a more exciting fight, but weirdly it’s possibly a more one sided fight. Masvidal can win of course, but there’s the potential for it to be a 5 round smotherfest. Burns grappling is of course legit and he can throw bombs, his qualities serve to null Usmans a little more.

I think I’m going ...

Usman decision
Volkanovski decision - just think this fight might end up looking exactly the same. I love Max but not sure what he can do to flip this one around. Volk looks super professional and prepared.
Yan TKO or decision - just think he’s on more of an upcurve than Aldo. I stand by the Moraes win over Aldo.
Rose TKO/KO ( I know Andrade is durable but Rose has possibly the best pure striking in all of WMMA and I think she’s coming in to this looking great. Think she gets revenge here )
Ribas decision/finish - comfortable win in any way, she is legit and Paige is checking out

This is pretty incredible and the merch thing especially goes to show what being the only game in town(so to speak) has done for the sport and the organization. But lets be real, this event would not be trending nearly as high if it was Burns/Usman. Masvidal's presence takes this card to a whole other level. It should show Dana that you do not, in fact, need gate receipts as well as PPV's to put these guys on the fight card.

Jesus Bogotov. These illegal knees. Twice in the sack. Now square in the forehead. You were on top big. Now you just got a 2 point deduction and very lucky not to have been DQ’d.

Dreadful judging in UFC yet again. Dos Santos vs Salikhov was close although I gave it 30-27 to Dos Santos but one judge gave it to Salikhov 30-27 which included the 1st round where Dos Santos dropped him and battered him on the ground. How the actual fuck??? :wideyed:
