6-0 and we missed a pen. Going backwards in this performance compared to our previous 3-4 games against them.

It will take a lot of new players before we're on a level with arsenal. Unfortunately the women's game is different to the men's in that the players peak at around 23 /25 rather than 27/30. Other than the physical demands the women are not paid enough for it to be a long term prospect so even if they have a decent contract and a central FA contract they are looking at getting another job simply to get workplace experience for their careers after football. There are not many opportunities for women in football (men or women's) after retirement so many peak early and leave the game early.

What I mean by this is the difference between the average and the good level is huge

That was a bit shocking tbh. They are very popular with the player group right?
If we're investing and want the woman team to be among the best than maybe a top level management is needed as well.
They've been left alone for a long time without any pressure to perform.

The sacking has not gone down well on the Spurs women's Twitter. People really liked the management team and seem very grateful for what they've done in helping the side into professionalism and the promotion two seasons ago.

But it seems something went wrong this campaign, they just can't buy a win no matter who they play. Losing to Arse, Chelsea and City is fair enough but not beating WHAM, Reading or Bristol City isn't good enough.

I feel very sorry for Karen Hill, she's been coaching the ladies for a very long time and brought them a long way. Last season was our first season in the WSL and we did great.
On the face of it, at the beginning of this season, the new signings and the influx of the American superstars looked too good to be true...and it was. I think the team has become de-stabilised, pressure has been heaped upon Hill's & Amoros and the ladies just haven't 'clicked'

The team selection has been a shambles, as has some of the substitutions.
Of course this is the coaches fault but, they had 'other' people to keep happy. It's ruined us.

The sooner the loan deals are finished and the new coach knows where she's at, the better.

Only lost on penalties to a strong Arsenal team, should have really won on Saturday as well conceding a last minute goal after a sending off.

Seems like a very harsh sacking to me unless something really went wrong behind the scenes, it's their first real bad run in the past few years.

There are highlights on the Official Site. Alex Morgan went through on goal at 2-2 but her effort was saved and then she was the only player to miss a penalty as well. Unlucky.

Decided to get the bairn and myself a season ticket each for the women's team. Only £40/£20 respectively. I was meant to take her for her birthday before it all got cancelled. Need to make it up.

Yep, we renewed our season tickets. 60 quid for an adult & child is a no-brainer. Roll on Sunday, be good to be back at the Hive cheering on the girls!

Wins for the Men & Women today!

Strong performance from the Women. Angela Addison was off the hook today, and I'm glad. She never got that much game time last season but whenever she was brought off the bench she made an impact. Strong, fast and determined...fantastic! Scored a great goal.
Skinner has juggled the team about and the shape looked good, they played well together and were definitely pressing better & solid at the back. Midfield possession was much better (other than Kennedy)
Alana Kennedy had a mare of a game:( Alex Morgan was really lacking:sorry: Rest of the team?
Referee was ?

Angela Addison was fantastic wasn't she? So glad Alex Morgan got her goal, hope it leads to more next weekend and not just penalties... Also! Jess Naz back - she seemed to hold back a bit, hopefully we'll see a lot more as the few times we saw her before she was injured, we thought she was great. Don't know if anyone remembers, but the first season that they got the women in their kit alongside the men, only Jess was present. Apparently none of the others turned up - but it was awesome seeing her in the shop! (last season it was a lot better and this season even better than that).

BTW, we renewed our season ticket, but I couldn't work out where any credit from last season was, or how to apply it.

Also, is the man who was doing the commentary really loudly about the ref on here? You're a few rows behind us and I know I'm going to enjoy sitting near you, we were all quite quiet (for a while) yesterday, getting used to being in a crowd again :)

Kennedy I agree, she wasn't at her best, hopefully it was an off day and thank goodness we won. My daughter was happy yesterday as she got a rainbow scarf, and it was a nice touch having free pictures of Justin Edinburgh, Ray Clemence and Martin Peters at the Tottenham shop too.

For her small size, Addison sure packs a punch! Cannot praise her enough.
Morgan is still rusty, had a couple of through balls that she should have been put away but was either to slow or didn't have the finish. I had me head in my hands when she stepped up to take the pen...Good on her, it will boost her confidence. She seems to be lacking in it.

The guy having a go at the ref was hilarious! I did think he was right though, some poor decisions.

It was a good day out...bloody freezing though!
