Alderweireld has had a poor season?

Toby is pure class. He has played 65 games this season, you woldn't think he could have done that after last seasons injury.

I don't think Alderweireld has had a poor season, but it's more around how the team has played in general, which has been a major disappointment. And more so our defense espically Trippier and Lloris + Foyth has been absolute shit and cost a lot of points.

Hell I think Alderweireld is running for player of the year with Sissoko and Son.
Lloris has had a good season. Particularly in 2019 he’s been one of our best players.

Yes and no. I still think we need to improve other areas in the team, so we can't sit on our asses and wait for them to decide if they're leaving or not
We absolutely need to improve. My point was more than at full back and in CM, we are probably best off being in young, hungry, high ceiling potential. Same goes for anyone we bring in to replace Lamela.
However, Eriksen and Alderweireld would need to be replaced with top quality and only top quality, and those are the same players that the other, richer top clubs are after.

I do believe we will make signings, but I believe that us as fans will need to show an element of trust in those running the club that they know what they are doing because those players won’t necessarily be the player’s we are clamouring for.

Despite of what his agent may claim ....there is very very little chance for Bale remaining at Real M. next season. Unless he's happy spending it on the bench...
Bale wasn't even in the squad for Real's game last Sunday...

Utd are the sort of twatters that would throw massive money at him

In seasons gone by, but I think they must have learned their lesson now. The last thing they need is another lazy attacket capable of the spectacular. As much as I love Bale, I don’t think that’s what we need either.

Linford Christie was 32 when he won the Olympic 100m gold medal and won the World Championship gold the following year. If he stays injury-free, Bale has another 3-4 years at the top level.

I believe that Levy would love a marquee signing and Bale fits the bill. I'd love to see him back at Spurs but, on reflection, I'd probably prefer Zaha.

Real M. are known to put their players under a lots of pressure - mentally as well as physically - and drain every drop of energy in them (and for that they pay their top player top money), so when they leave former Real M. many of them are "broken" physically and/or can't find he same motivation as they had to Real M. to perform at top level.

Lindford Christie's not performed under that same circumstances as Bale have.

Trippier's been appalling and in all the games his played defensively -those games 65 Alderweireld been playing RCB we've lost a record number of games under Poch. I just feel his made far to many mistakes resulting to goals and people aren't calling him out....its easy to blame Sanchez when he plays.

Do you think it just slightly has something to do with how we as a team has performed in general, more than Eriksen's head is turned because of what the media says?

He works his socks off every game, and is never injuried, and is overplayed because our squad is too thin.

Eriksen's stats is still on par, slight below previous seasons for us, while Alli etc is not even close?

Yeah probably. Just a lot of factors contributing really.

I think he would be the most likely signing from Ajax that we would be able to pull off. He has also got 8 goals and 9 assists in the league where he has played as a CM most of the time.

Actually, although formation is often listed as the standard 4-3-3, it's more of a 4-2-3-1 with Beek in 10 role and Schöne+De Jong as holding midfielders. Besides those stats are not great considering Ajax dominance in eredivisie.

I'm telling you coops, his long throw ability will get him 5 assists per season easily. Just have him aim for Moura and voila!

For the last few months of me mentioning him, many have instantly responded about his long throw ability, but he's so much more than that.

The lad is 22 years old, yet is calm on the ball, tenacious in the tackle, good turn of pace, reads the game well, moves things forward when he's won possession, more than decent passer, good crossing ability, good in the air, strong in possession, naturally plays a pressing game & looks like he has good team ethic & a good attitude.

Just relegated from the PL, contract up next year and, as I said at the start of this post, just 22 years old. Remember Poch saying he wished he got to work with Dembele when he was in his early twenties?

I think Billing would be an an instant improvement to our current DM options & could be extremely shrewd bit of business.

There isn't always a need to spend £370gazillion to improve.

Is Isco out of the question?

What about Jadon Sancho? If Eriksen is leaving, we will need a player like Sancho to provide the assists.

Does seem trippier is off to Napoli. Issue is will levy demand a levy tax?

Or try and extract as much as possible until the very last day and us getting fed the usual "can't buy before we sell line" leaving us short a RB.

Who would you upgrade on Lloris with?

It’s a good question. If spending decent £ then someone like Kasper Schmeichel. Think Nick Pope would be a good signing from Burnley given Heaton is no. 1 again. While he is a shithouse, also think Matt Ryan will be a top goalkeeper. Sure there are others from Europe.

Van De Beek feels like a flavour of the month signing to me.

Not so sure. Goals and assists stack up well in his homeland this season. But I'll concede that the Eredivisie may be considered a somewhat easier league.

However, let's not forget Ajax have playet some good teams in this seasons Champions league.

They were unbeaten in their group stage having played Bayern Munich twice. They've knocked out Real Madrid and Juventus.

Champions league wise Beek has managed to score or assist five times in 11 matches. Almost a 1:2 ratio against some good sides.

At 22, performing the way he is, I believe him to be a more considered type signing as opposed to flavour of the month.
