I'm really excited for what the window holds now, JJ sounds positive now we are all but certain to be playing Champions League football, although I don't want to get too sucked in, I spent too much time on here last summer for ultimately nothing to happen:LOL:.

Would be great if we see a change of approach but in all likelihood it'll be more of the same. Expect us to wait until the last few weeks of the window for a lowball bid for Andre Gomes ?

I reckon we will get Sessegnon early and depending on Villa playoffs possibly Grealish early on and that will satsify.. actually thinking about it we're still unhappy in the semi finals vs Ajax so I doubt that'll satisfy anyone haha.

I agree but you’d like to think ‘lessons have been learned’ the last few weeks/months that the lack of squad dept has massively effected us. Yes we are in top 4,cl however it could have been more convincing had we a stronger squad to deal with injuries/fatigue etc

Poch has said we need to start behaving like a top club and that includes us fans. Comsistent CL football, CL semi-finalists this year (possible finalists), CL next season (barring an incredibly unlikely catastrophe on Sunday), best stadium in the world, located in London (one of the top cities in the world), one of the best training facilities in the world, WC winning captain, England captain, one of the best managers in the world renowned for developing players, a chairman and manager with a great relationship and ‘project’. Why would a young, ambitious player choose Man U over us? Looks like they’ll finish 6th in the league, with an inexperienced manager who has only won 2 of his last 11 games, and a rotten squad full of overpaid prima donnas.

Because money.

What's there to pay for? The actual, true info from the inside is nigh non-existent at best and bewilderingly wrong at worst these days, and the rest of the debate is just a repeat wankfeast over Grealish and Sessegnon. I'd rather save the tenner and spend more time outside, eat gelato, soak up the sun and hide behind sunglasses so the brunettes don't really know where I'm looking.

I assuming this was sarcasm and I had a good chuckle at it, but just to reiterate why we should all put something in the coffers when we can.

It's extremely expensive to run this forum. AC, Rob and the rest of the staff keep this place immaculate, well run and they do so free of charge. All we need to donate for is the hosting and server space. It's really not too much to ask. I work in web development and hosting, It is extremely expensive to run a site of this size out of pocket. We make use of this forum therefore we should help pay towards the costs.

It's not only about the ITK and Transfer Forum, but the forum as a whole. I love coming on here and engaging with you guys every day. I have no one else who shares my interest in this team over here, so this is the best place for me to discuss the club I've loved since I was a wee lad.

I come from a third world country where the currency vs the pound is absolutely shocking, so if I can afford a tenner every month there's no excuses for not donating at least once every now and then. If you cant donate £10 then donate £5, if 50-100 of us do this monthly we are covering a big chunk of the costs for this forum. Even If you do it once a year, it doesn't matter. Every little bit helps.

If Levy doesn't put up some cash this summer then he's lost the plot. We absolutely scraped CL this year and Poch is begging him to be brave. If we don't make some kind of statement we're in serious danger of dropping out of the top 4 and losing Poch next summer, which would cost us far more in the long run than a few smart, necessary transfers.

Yes we have got away with it this time and hopefully "lessons have been learnt" although I am going to reserve judgement until the new season starts, levy has serious form here and I can't see a leopard ever changing it's spots.

Concerning Martial, I think it's all about the context. There are supposedly other bigger bad eggs in that squad, and he might simply be under bad influence. Why would he need to work hard if others get away with lack of effort? Maybe if he is inserted into a different squad with a different culture, the story could be different. Much like Rabiot, some Pochettino tough lovin' might just be what the two of them need.

Playing for a top club like Man Utd with his salary should be motivation enough. There is only so much that even Pochettino can do with certain players.

I think the investment has to be made now. The stadium not only facilitates competitive wages for players (and in a sustainable fashion), but DEMANDS we make the investment due to the sponsorship deals we'd be looking at securing.

I think Levy realises that sponsors want to back winners. He's just been financially focussed on the stadium build until now, perhaps.

Absolutely, 100%. My thinking is that all we've bought for several seasons is either nothing (literally) or gambles. If we are going to keep gambling, we might as well gamble on the players who we know have some degree of success in the PL or for a top club, and whose issue we sort of already are informed about. Ie. keep gambling, but make more informed purchases with a higher probability of maybe working out.

With a full pre season our existing squad will he much improved next season. Not saying we don’t need to add quality and depth but can’t see a need for the complete overhaul some are suggesting.

Having looked more into Lo Celso, I'm not sure he'd be a good Dembele replacement (but may be a good Eriksen replacement), he's pretty much been playing CF recently, and people laugh at PSG for playing him as a DM.

I'm hoping that there's some proper dialogue between Levy and Poch with regard to what players Poch wants and how much money Levy is willing/able to give him. The alleged stalemate last time out where Poch was said to have turned down decent players and held out for players we couldn't sign almost led to the most monumental fuck up. As I've said before, I think it's hard to estimate the benefits of a settled squad getting a proper pre season, so hopefully we are looking at attainable targets and some early deals. The ball is then in Levy's court to get the financials sorted and not fuck about til the 11th hour. A bit of compromise from both sides and we could have a blinder of a window.
