He is a hot prospect in France. He’s been compared to Paul Pogba and tore it up for France recently in a youth game. He is a realistic target but he won’t be the answer t any problems in 19/20
Yet we'll miss out on him when he gets first team football and moves to Dortmund or 'Pool in a few years for 60 mil.

We are in a difficult position with these players with potential. When others are willing to take a chance on a Brooks, Maddison etc those players wouldn’t fit into a top 4/6 team.
The afcbs and Leicester’s can be immediately improved and start them. So it is a tricky place for us.

We either buy at £60m a pop or go for the top Youth and hope they come good quickly.
As we can’t splash the serious big bucks I do think the later is the way.
Poch’s Comments today suggest he wants us to compete big though.

My faith is pretty thin for any money to be spent

I personally think Brooks would have played a shitload of games for us this season had we bought him in the summer. Hindsight is wonderful I know. He was not even a gamble at the fee Bournemouth paid either.

We seem stuck in the middle with our approach. The players that can improve our team are all apparently too expensive, and we aren’t interested in taking a risk on a genuine prospect anymore. There’s bargains to be had, like every single summer, you just need a world class counting system/team in place. Do we even have a scouting system in place!:ROFLMAO:

What way do we play exactly?

What does Coutinho do better than Eriksen?

I think they are at a similar level. Before this season and the way Eriksen has performed I’d have rated him. A little higher but I believe he’ll be exactly where Coutinho is now should he leave us in the summer.

Struggling for gametime at Real/Barca and with them looking to offload him back to the prem.

If we're going for a backup to Kane this summer i'd go all out for Alexander Isak. Just 19 years old but just as Kane, it's his vision and football understanding that stands out. Every time he has the ball he always takes the right decision and you feel like anything can happen. A plus is that he's banging in goals for fun.

This window will have a very different feel to last summer where there was a genuine feeling that it was extremely hard to improve on what we had, even Trippier had just had an outstanding World Cup.

That is certainly not the case anymore! Demebele was crocked, then gone. A new right back is now critical. With two first teamers likely to go in Toby and Eriksen we need them adequately replaced or it will be the beginning of this great side being dismantled.

Huge huge summer ahead.

Creativity in small congested spaces.

We struggle most when teams park the bus against us. I think Coutinho would be much more effective in these games.
And obviously good in the rest also

Damn good game this.
Villarreal's young striker, Chukwueze looks dangerous.
Anyone seen more of him the 40odd minutes I've seen so far?

We've been burnt with both 'proven' players like Paulinho and 'prospect' players like N'Jie. We seem to be reluctant to commit to either type but it does sound like Poch is expecting some serious money to be spent on quality players. My main concern is that he also seems to want control of purchases, but some of his prime targets from the recent past who we failed to get have turned out to be complete donkeys.

Liverpool were terrible in those games and great against team that would play open and allow them to counter (hence why they lost to Burnley, Swansea, Hull, Leicester, Crystal Palace, both legs of the FA Cup Final to Southampton 0-1 and tied Southampton 0-0) in his final full year. So I'd completely disagree with that.

Eriksen isn't bad in these situations, its because we don't have another player who can do what Eriksen can is why we struggle against the bus. And to be honest most teams struggle against the parked bus, that's why the teams employ that strategy.
