Gomes, there is no way I'd swap him for Lloris, but that season where we finished 4th, Gomes was incredible! If only he could've been like that all time :(

I was really excited when he arrived, seemed to be some good hype about him at the time. I see he ended up getting 50 goals in 80 appearance for AZ which is a damn good return, about his level though.

oh, and welcome to SC :)

No one has mentioned Gary Mabbutt:cry:. Loved the guy and the ultimate legend for me. Showed you can be a great captain without screaming and shouting and naturally commanded respect from everyone.

Ginola is another as he proved me wrong. I thought we had a show pony but nothing else. Once he settled in he was one of the most effective, and talented, players we´ve ever had. Add in the passion he showed and you have a legend.

On a lesser scale there is Kanoute and Mido for me. We bought Ferdinand several seasons too late but we bought Kanoute in his prime. Just a shame we were crap and didn´t create for him.

Mido came in and was deadly in the air and when playing regularly formed excellent partnerships with Keane and Defoe. Just loved the way he played football.

I always really liked Vinny Samways which I realise puts me in the minority.

Awesome chip against Millwall at the lane one Boxing Day.

To continue on the chip theme I once met him near the lane on a non match day, he was buying some crisps and John Moncur was waiting outside.

Ill use that little gem if I'm ever doing the after dinner circuit..

Apart from the obvious, had a softie for Paul Walsh (remember that overhead volley?), hazard (pass master) and currently dawson - sporting legend.

Klinsmann. My all time fav player. The reason I started supporting Spurs (pretty much).

Ginola. A shining star during a pretty bleak period.

Ghaly. Complete nutter.

Steed. Dunno, just really like the bloke.

Azza. He's become so synonymous with Spurs for me.

Woodgate. Always gave it his all, put his body on the line and that goal against the Chavs...

Palacios. Such a humble person and he was an important part of the team when he joined. Shame his career seems like it's gone down the drain. His performance against Milan with Sandro was just amazing.

King. No comment necessary.

I think Michael Carrick would complement us perfectly right now.

And I genuinely miss Van der Vaart, I think every team needs a maverick who can do something incredible when the 'tactics' aren't necessarily working. Arsenal away, 3-2.
