Lately i've noticed that I have a habit of going into a thread and taking it slightly off topic by talking about and discussing players that used to play for us who would fit in brilliantly with todays team. I don't mean to do it, I just think we all have players that we have that attachment to, be it for what they did for the club by way of scoring goals, creating chances etc. Some just have a special mention from some people for a feeling they created around the club even if they didn't set the pitch alight during their time at Spurs.

Either way, I wanted to create a thread where we could just chat generally about our favourite Spurs players of times gone by and why they were our favourites. No real structure as to the discussion, just a little place to reminisce.. I'll start, and only one place to start for me despite it being a recent one:

I know he has a lot of fans on here despite only being with us for a short time, but I miss Rafa like mad. I do actually think he would fit in perfectly in our new midfield, in the hole behind Soldado. Everything came together, the late deadline signing, the quality of the player, the passion he showed celebrating scoring for us from the offset. All of it, just a fantastic signing for Tottenham Hotspur. I actually still get a little sad and gutted when i see him on TV not in our shirt!.

I will also give honourable mentions to Niko Kranjcar, and David Ginola. Niko wasn't always fantastic for us but i just liked him as a player, the little touch of class and some of the brilliant goals he scored. Ginola, kind of speaks for himself really!

So, feel free to say which players you miss, rated when no one else did, or just enjoyed having at the club. As stated they don't have to have been a massive success, just players you enjoyed having at the club for whichever reason you wish. if you were a Helder Postiga fan... Hell, this is the thread where it's ok to be a Postiga fan!

Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

That is all.

A cracking player who never seemed to get the recognition he deserved regardless of who he was with.

Anyway, things are better now with the arrival of Soldado but another good forward would settle my mind and Kanoute in his prime would have been perfect. Shame we never got the very best out of him but I always really liked him.

Berbatov, he may have been a lazy sulky sod but he definitly could play.

Would have been a complete game changer for us if we had him last season

VDV - man crush

Proper choice would be Modric though. Can't really appreciate him until you watch him live, incredible passing, awareness and always in space

My name is Aliyid and I like Jose Dominguez... No idea why (certainly not for any sign of being a great player) but seeing him always brought a smile to my face.

Oh and Tommy Hudd  it's only been a day but I miss him already

Iversen before injury! :(

But Van der Vaart pains me most, because he was a world class player, everything about him. His touch, his composure, his desire, his finishing, his passing. The way he and Crouch hit the ground running was amazing.
