What South Africa have been doing well is closing down that ball out the back move we love to Ford/Farrell/Daly and then also target the carrier off that. I'd like to see a kickpass or something to try and make them think.

If we keep conceding penalties whenever SA get the ball though it's irrelevant.

We look defeated

Theyre just too powerful
They're powerful but England have made many mistakes. We could have had a try at the end of the first half if we'd gone left rather than lose 15 yards by throwing it out to the right wing.

Does any team look like they are going for a try? Or just penalties! Not been watching it yet...

Agreed totally but we are six behind now, so given how poor we are, RSA havent run away with it. Thats a positive but we definitely need to improve

As I said before the game, the South Africa power game would cause real problems.

It felt like we were under the cosh from the off, game was played from our 22, penalties conceded straight away, and Sinckler's injury and it's just gone from there.

You wont win games though when you're losing the battle up front. In all aspects we're getting done - the collisions, the breakdown, the lineout, the aerial ping pong, and the scrum is getting destroyed. We're then getting daft errors like not taking restarts on top of it.

The backs aren't doing much better, but their errors are caused under pressure or trying to force something off the little and shit ball they get, though Youngs has been extra horrendous with his passing today and did his best to kill that one spell of pressure we had on their line.

South Africa have also undoubtedly been smarter tactically, with and without the ball and in terms of things they've worked on and planned for.

Start to win the forward battle, I don't know how but it's simply got to happen, and we might turn it around. If we don't then it's going to end in tears.
Great summary

A tiny bit of momentum building, we manage to turn a 22 restart into a lineout on our 22 and now 3 more points against. Killer.

Nice of SA to give us a chance of them back straightaway though.
