Honestly have no preference as to who we play, as I see threat from both teams.

South Africa have done nothing spectacular in the World Cup but they have the sheer brute force to batter any opposition, solid set piece, and some serious pace out on either flank once they've narrowed up the opposition. Erasmus as coach has also managed to cut through all the chaos that surrounds SA rugby and got them disciplined and focused.

Wales are our bogey team, and tbh we often find a way to lose against them. They're unit is greater than the sum of its parts, it's a well oiled machine that knows what it's doing and plays smart under the cosh, and they have the ability the ride out the storm and hang in games and then find a way to turn the tide, which England have found out - the 6 nations this year, RWC 15, etc - more than once.

Conversely, we're also well capable of beating either team if we get it right. Just all depends on putting on the performance again when it matters.....

@E17yid

Continuing our pundit debate. I'm just watching the match again via a random download. It's from NZ tv and has martyn williams who is top class. Really engaging and knowledgeable, calling every thing.

Hansen took it superbly well I thought. Like most kiwis, a class act in defeat. He merely said to the hack, I’m happy to give you a lesson on rugby education out there. I don’t think he was insinuating he wanted to fight him.

He offered no excuse other than England were much better and deserved winners. Couldn’t thank Japan enough for being great hosts too. Read was class personified too.

The journo asked if NZ didn't want it enough or some thing stupid like that. It was a dumb question. Hansen is a great coach and he was very magnanimous in defeat.

Eddie ?

“We’re looking forward to Wales v South Africa being a 3-3 draw and they have to play extra-time," said Jones when asked about England's likely final opponents.

If it goes to extra time maybe they will put on Gareth Moura

Best England performance I have ever seen, with ABs totally outclassed. I hope we're saving an even better performance for the final, and fingers crossed Spurs can get a result out of Liverpool tomorrow to crown a perfect sporting weekend!

You obviously don't live in NZ, their fans are worse than Utd fans in the 90s.

Agree with the rest of you comments though, Hansen's usually an arrogant prick but he was very gracious on this occasion.

Hansen taking defeat well

NZ coach offers reporter 'outside' after England loss
He offered to teach the journo who asked the "dumb question" about rugby outside of the press conference he wasn't offering him out to fight.

For context, the journo asked this guy if the Allblacks wanted it enough, which is like asking Son, when he was in tears after getting knocked out of the world cup, if Korea wanted it enough.

If that's what the journo said then he/she deserves to get told where to go IMO. What an absolutely moronic thing to say.

Remember we were discussing ford's defence. I always defended him for not being flaky like he is sometimes portrayed in the media.

Talking utter guff about captains and deserving captains to win the WC. The captain who wins a WC is the one who deserves it. They do waffle.

Difficult not to want Wales to win if you dig a little bit. That’s why I always keep away from it, but ITV are doing their job well here.

I’ve got so much more in common with the Welsh players than I have the English players, generally speaking. Working class vs posh boys. Every time I go to Wales I come away thinking ‘lovely place, lovely people’ I rarely think that in the south east, especially in London.

Problem is, they do tend to go a bit scouser like when it comes to rugby.
