Weirdly would rather us have a season where we comfortably get Top 4 than be in a title challenge now.

Because if we do end up in the latter, you just know that these 4 points dropped will be what costs us in the end and that will be so painful to take!

Maybe this result makes José see the things we have been saying about the Sissoko Winks and Sanchez issues.

i would say Winks and Sanchez won’t play for a bit. Jose doesn’t forgive so soon.

Also we have 33 odd games to correct this result, if it was 5 games from the end of the season then yes throw in the towel but we haven’t hit our stride yet. Yes the result is painful but not the end of the season.

i will add, we have only lost to Everton in all comps this season.

This result tells us no chance of a title push. We had such a good opportunity and have already blown it

Disagree - this season will be wide open and everyone dropping points all over the place. Not saying we’ll win it, but certainly won’t be a cakewalk for Liverpool or City.

Winks wasn't to blame for the third goal. He was stretching to win the second ball and the goal was an amazing strike. He could hit that another 100 times and miss the target everytime.

The reason why we'll struggle to win the league is that we still have too many players prone to regular individual mistakes. Sissoko, Aurier and Sanchez are all mistakes waiting to happen every single game. And unfortunately today, they all made a crucial mistake each that ultimately cost us three goals. A team can get away with one of those kind of players in the side, but not three.

I disagree. You just leather it. He tried to control and take it down. Whether or not it was an amazing strike, you don’t give the opportunity to give that chance.

I don't think he tried to control it. He tried to get a foot on it. It was one of those things. I am more mad that we are under pressure and give away a brain fart free kick in a dangerous area in the last few seconds of the game.

Without fans being present, I'm not sure home and away has the same significance to be honest.

Ultimately our lack of a quality disciplined defensive midfielder and defenders will cost us any chance of winning the league. We'll score for fun, but our defence is bang average.

Nothing has changed as far as I can see
Liverpool points dropped arse dropped points city gained but have just dropped points previously
Chavs dropped points
Manure gained but have already dropped plenty.
If we was in the race before kick off today then we still are literally nothing has changed.

I think we will win the league - Jose will sort this shit out

Lost four points in teh last minute in the last two home games, not great and whilst the Noocastle one was a shite penalty - its about the play and mentality to take chances and never settle both in defence and in attack

I agree, we absolutely can.

Mourinho will instil the right mentality, and he's learning a lot about this group of players.

Thank you. The only hope now is a Leicester season or to keep up our great performances all year without the crap set pieces. 0 wins from your first 3 home games with no big teams played is not normally a recoverable position.

But none of those seasons were played like they are this season with no crowds.

It's a completely different landscape and consequently not as significant as you make out.

I don’t know how people can say we have blown it 5 games in.
I never thought we could win the league this year but I wouldn’t say we couldn’t after 5 games and a couple of draws either. It stinks of people getting their I told you so’s in early to be fair and hey they might be right but my view is it’s still what it is after 5 games. Everton top, Villa second. Are we better than those teams? I’d say yeah so maybe we put a run together maybe we don’t but relax and don’t get Nostradamus in a year where anything is fucking possible.

Any team who can sort out their defence will be in a great position to win this title.

At the moment that team is Villa...
