I definitely get what you are saying. From what I have heard, Carter was at his best, when he was with Jordan Davis and under the leadership of Nakobe Dean (who the Eagles drafted last year). Some of the character stuff came from coaches, but they were pretty vague and the problems outside with the racing incident. Other than that, it's not like there is a laundry list of issues.

I think that the previously mentioned vets with help him develop, but the Georgia teammates will help him assimilate into the culture that the Eagles have developed.

Yeah i don't know what the issues actually are with him, I knew about the car crash and the coaches. I also know that it was widely reported that the Seahawks and Carroll, who historically give second chances to damn near anyone, reportedly wanted nothing to do with him and pulled him from their board entirely. So i don't know that it was just nothing in his background that teams questioned.

But i agree with you on the culture. Honestly, the Eagles, Patriots, Steelers and Ravens all seem to have a built in culture that takes care of a lot of things. You get to those teams and you either buy in and do it their way or the players, coaches and organization as a whole seem have no issue just moving on from you.

But who knows what actually triggered teams to not take the shot on him. It could have been something like his interview. Which is reportedly what cost Levis with some teams, i saw somewhere that one of teams that brought him in for an interview called Levis "a bummer to speak with".

Jaguars vs. BillsOct. 8London (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium)
Ravens vs. TitansOct. 15London (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium)

Both games should be good. Good QBs etc. (save for Tenn)

I got tickets to Falcons/Jags at Wembley. Did that sell out quickly?

Just checked - loads left!
The Wembley game is usually the last one to sell out - it’s the biggest venue and usually hosts the least desirable game. When I got tickets for Jags v Bills at our stadium I had friends also in the queue with 390k people in front of them, so I’m guessing Jags v Bills and Titans v Ravens both sold out very quickly (as the 2 TH Stadium games did last year).

Think a few on here may not know who he was but think a couple may remember him (@yankspurs , @LSUY ?)...

But Ryan Mallett, former QB for the Patriots, Texans and Ravens has died at the age of 35. Drown off the coast of Florida.

White Hall head football coach Ryan Mallett drowns in Florida

My heart broke when I read that. He had incredible potential coming out of HS. If Michigan hired a different coach after Carr, he might have stuck around & developed into a better NFL QB than he did at Arkansas. He had one of the strongest arms I have ever seen. I'll always have his TD pass to JJ Watt, though.

I wonder at what point the running back market bottoms out.

Not far off it currently.

Saw a report that a team talked to Dalvin Cook and offered him $5m and he turned it down because he believes he is worth more. My first thought was the team was overpaying and cook should probably take it.

It'll be interesting to see in the next 15-20 years what kind of impact it'll have on the position. With the money situation and CTE issues coming more and more to light, I can imagine a lot of parents not wanting to let their kids to play RB. Could be a golden era for hybrid safeties.

Pretty hard to take a once incredibly successful franchise, whose tickets were one of the hardest in the league to get. And turn it into one of the worst for the last 20 years, and drag it through the mud. With home support now struggling to fill 50% for the majority of the time. But Snyder managed it.

Dan Snyder has to have been the worst owner in NFL history, and good riddance. A great day for Washington fans.

I think Burrows turned it down, as did Fields. Glad Fields did, he doesn't need any distractions this year, make or break time for him.

Several turned it down. As you said, Fields passed. I know both Burrow and Hurts turned it down for this season but said maybe down the line. Tua said he was passing because he wasn't comfortable sharing as much as his private life as the show has. I think Stafford passed for a second time. I think i saw maybe another big name passed as well.
