Not one you see every day (or ever):
I wouldn't believe the Raiders won, at least not without seeing it.

Yep, Carr would need to be cut or traded within 3 days of the Superbowl to give us a low cost 'way out' otherwise he's guaranteed for megabucks which must be in thinking of Mark Davis.Poor Carr....

thats what i immediately jumped to when i was watching with some friends who said they haven't seen anything like this before (thank god). A lot of conflicting reports right now where some are saying he is stable and the NFL said they will not be giving out any information at this time about his health to the journos. I pray for him and wish he pulls through and is fine. This might sound super dramatic but while watching it I called my parents to let em know that I love em.Damar Hamlin of Buffalo collapsed after a tackle. Was given CPR and AED and taken to hospital. Very similar to Eriksen.

Anyone know whether the NFL have any history with this in the same way that football world has?
I don’t think it’s similar to Eriksen, Hamlin had blunt force trauma to the chest and immediately went down. Eriksen just collapsed.
I meant in general- collapsing during the game and being taken to the hospital. Not the medical issue behind it.
It certainly happens in college and high school American football. But it's probably a law of large number thing. There's hundreds of college teams and thousands of high school teams so it's just more likely to happen. Of course the number of pro football clubs is even more.I meant in general- collapsing during the game and being taken to the hospital. Not the medical issue behind it.
Right. Specifically catchers (why the chest protectors are so important).Apparently, from what I’ve read, it’s very rare given how perfect the timing needs to be in terms of your heart rhythm and the impact/trauma. It something doctors don’t really see but read about, and most commonly happens with teenagers or young adults in Baseball (more common than American Football)
