So that's what.....3 concussions just this season for Tua?

Kid should probably hang it up....but not sure he will.

Yep, Carr would need to be cut or traded within 3 days of the Superbowl to give us a low cost 'way out' otherwise he's guaranteed for megabucks which must be in thinking of Mark Davis.

Sad to end this way I guess but there needs to be fresh impetus now at QB and seemingly with Josh McDaniels given full backing I wonder if he'll turn to former players in Brady or Jimmy G as the way forward. Put it this way, Stidham isn't the answer and not sure whether the preferred draft picks would fall into our lap - certainly not Bryce Young who will almost certainly be drafted in Houston.

Envisage alot of upheaval in LV for the post season and whereas the sentiment was looking to compete for playoff berths with what looked like a talented roster now will turn to a rebuild.

Damar Hamlin of Buffalo collapsed after a tackle. Was given CPR and AED and taken to hospital. Very similar to Eriksen.

thats what i immediately jumped to when i was watching with some friends who said they haven't seen anything like this before (thank god). A lot of conflicting reports right now where some are saying he is stable and the NFL said they will not be giving out any information at this time about his health to the journos. I pray for him and wish he pulls through and is fine. This might sound super dramatic but while watching it I called my parents to let em know that I love em.

I don’t think it’s similar to Eriksen, Hamlin had blunt force trauma to the chest and immediately went down. Eriksen just collapsed.

Anyone know whether the NFL have any history with this in the same way that football world has?

Apparently, from what I’ve read, it’s very rare given how perfect the timing needs to be in terms of your heart rhythm and the impact/trauma. It something doctors don’t really see but read about, and most commonly happens with teenagers or young adults in Baseball (more common than American Football)

I meant in general- collapsing during the game and being taken to the hospital. Not the medical issue behind it.

my apologies, I agree and it isn't as rare of an occurrence as most would think but you will get those anti-vaxxers who will immediately say these are now always related to the jab.

Very scary, hope he pulls through. Eerily similar in the crowd to the Muamba incident, didn’t hear much clamouring from the fans to get the game back on. Heard that they didn’t announce anything for a long time to ensure the ambulance and other services wouldn’t immediately hit traffic, quite smart if that’s the case.

As my bed times are all messed up, I was watching the game last night/this morning as I was agonising about work again (fuck sakes), saw it live and was very strange. It was unlike the Eriksen one in that Eriksen he dropped like in picture where as with Hamil, the picture cut away and back again and was on the floor.

Hope he pulls through. Didnt realise a hit could actually cause a cardiac arrest. Just so fucking scary.

It certainly happens in college and high school American football. But it's probably a law of large number thing. There's hundreds of college teams and thousands of high school teams so it's just more likely to happen. Of course the number of pro football clubs is even more.

Right. Specifically catchers (why the chest protectors are so important).

NFL has had 1 instance of someone having a heart attack during a game, which was back in the early 70s. Happened at the end of a game when Detroit was playing Chicago. The guy had a heart attack and died. They finished the end of the game. It happened near Dick Butkus, fans of Detroit though Butkus killed the guy since he as closest to him and had a reputation. Butkus was getting death threats afterwards.

Collapsing due to heart failure? I don't remember ever seeing that, and I've been following the NFL for over 20 years now.

I think JJ Watt''s heart had to be shocked back into rhythm earlier this year, but I don't know if that happened during a game, practice or just some other activity.

This happens more often with Lacrosse and Karate but since they are not "popular" sports - people are unable to comprehend how this can happen and are being ridiculous in blaming the vaccine.
