Oh I know, and I didn't take it as such. No worries.

The media do tend to go overboard. And there are constant needless comparisons. I totally agree with that.

Vrsaljko is a head scratcher. On the verge of great things, then gets a red card in a vital game CL qualifier last season and can't seem to regain his form. It's becoming a bit of a worry. He needs to get it sorted soon or who knows if he'll get back to where he was (supposed to be).

That's just Dinamo. But there are always talents throughout Croatia. Hajduk has an 18-year-old "pitbull" DM named Josip Radosevic who started for Croatia in the recent qualifier at Belgium. He's going to have a big career ahead of him and is already attracting a lot of interest. Hajduk also recently called-up 16-year-old Josip Basic to the senior team. Another top talent. Was offered a trial at Liverpool earlier in this year.

The U17/U18 generation of Croatians is actually very talented. Quite a few potential "stars" in that group. Will be interesting to see if any/how many will pan out.

That's a shame about Vrsaljko, I'm sure he'll kick back in to gear soon.

I wonder where Mateo Kovacic will end up? Still only 18 and seemingly destined for someone huge.

I will keep an eye out for Radosevic too, gotta love pitbull midfielders, reminds me of Edgar Davids!

It's good to see Croatia are still producing talented players though, hopefully they'll keep up the good work! Spurs have benefited massively from it, so we'll forever be grateful! And I wouldn't mind seeing more of the same at the Lane too.

No right foot. Not saying he's terrible but doesn't look as balanced as he could.

Having the scoring touch is all that matters to me. If he can create the opportunities with his right and continuously does so, then I wouldn't be worried about his weak side. True goal poachers find ways to score.

Made his senior debut today for Dinamo. The youngest player to ever play in the Croatian first division. 16 years and 103 days old.

He came on in the 83 min. and actually assisted on what seemed a perfectly good goal (that was called offside).

How well is our young Croatian thought of in Croatia?

I forget his name now.

Same as messi then!

Messi scores with his right and dribbles right. This kid is young and needs to develop the ability to be less predictable before he can start worrying the better defenders.

Alen Halilovic came on in the 85th minute (his second senior game) and it was enough for him to score his first goal. He's now the youngest player ever to score in the 1.HNL (Croatian League). The previous record holder was his teammate Mateo Kovacic.

Nice finish but there didn't seem to be a great rush from team mates to congratulate him.... I'm not having a go but I do wonder how respected he is in the dressing room?
