There was money to spend last Summer, there was money to spend in January, there will be 100% money to spend this Summer. Will it be as much as some of our rivals? Probably not, which is why we have to think very carefully about who we go after. if our only options are those who are wanted by Real, Barca etc we'll come up very short again.
No it just means we didn't buy for one reason or another.

My big hope is that the stadium and our status change for reaching the CL final could be the pull for the players Poch wants, but if it's not we could well be in trouble again.

The only thing that is a pull for players is how much they get paid.

Maybe this is the result that keeps Poch with us for the next chapter?

Last year Klopp and his players went through a night of disappointment, so they redoubled their efforts, made some astute signings, and pushed on to become one of the best teams in the world. We're were they were a year ago. So, if we do things right, there might be some exciting times ahead.

Ah the press again have to dumbly ask him about his future.

Like he’s going to tell them anything, why do then nobbers bother having to keep asking the same monotonous question, just makes them look silly really.

I really wish that Poch would sometimes change things up at half time. I know he likes to give players a chance to turn it around in the second half, but sometimes you just gotta change it up at half time and let the team come out swinging from the start.

I think the Winks sub should have been done at half time. Moving Eriksen back into CM and getting Lucas on and let them have a whole half to turn the game around. Also just try and change the energy from the start of the second half. Because the team sometimes gets lulled asleep and it’s difficult to change it around mid game. It becomes a bit too panicky when you only have like 25min with the new formation.

Really hope he fields strong line ups in both the domestic cups next season, its vital that reaching finals is something that becomes regular with this team & hopefully get over the line !

you have been on the back of this team all during the run in because of our results which have mainly been down to mental tiredness and burn-out, and you want us to burn out again next season. we have a team full of internationals, so next season we will be playing 38 matches, and you want a strong team out in domestics not considering minimum of 6 CL games, 6 matches for their international matches, and just to get to another Final you want us to field a strong team, can I ask when they get a rest?

This all boils down to one thing - recruitment, the squad we have now & the injuries we had resulted in the eliminations in the domestic cups.

Hopefully if we have a deeper squad poch can rotate and field a “strong side”

If was a tough decision to make. We were the better team and Liverpool looked ordinary. If it wasn’t for the ridiculous pen we would have gone into ht the happier team. Probably saw no reason to change things at that point.

look it has nothing to do with the recruitment, we had 12 players playing most of the season on fumes, reached the semis of the CoC, and the final of the CL.

at the start of the season we had 28 senior players that only 25 can be selected for the CoC, FA Cup and PL. 12 of those played at the World cup (PLAYED) 9 got to the final weekend and played. how many players should we of bought, and what guarantees can you give me on players that would of definitely settled, not got injured, or even the possibility that 1 of those new players might of not made an error that meant we never got as far in the CoC, CL, and finished 5th in the PL.

the squad needs to be trimmed 1st get rid of the players we don't feel are good enough, trouble is those players have got to choose a club or be fit enough to pass a medical.

we are about to enter a new chapter, lets see what happens over the summer with most of the squad getting 3-4 weeks rest before they start again.

Can’t complain with poch’s team selection really, we just conceded after 2 mins and that killed our game plan that’s it really. Then there is the fact that trippier isn’t good enough and kicked the ball out of play about 4 times, dele hasn’t been at it all season, Kane was only 80% fit and overall we just aren’t quite good enough. We are 3 top top class players away from being very close.

I hope poch get backed and we see what he can really do.

Put it like this.
If you were Poch, and you were at a club that seemingly couldn’t/didn’t want to match your ambitions, how long after your first five years would you stick around for?

Unfortunately I think we’ve had quite a lot of coasters in the team this season. I don’t think many of our performances have been that great. Yes. We’ve managed to play in a CL final, which is great! But realistically we’re still without winning anything. I know injuries have been rife, but if you’re managing the team, how long would you put up with being hamstrung in your ability to do your job.

I couldn’t blame Poch for leaving. What else can the man do? He may have reached the limit with the current squad.
That said, again, an awful lot of players just phoning it in this season, in my opinion.

Can you say that every player put in 110% tonight?
I can’t.
And personally I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of expectation that your players would give it absolutely everything in what amounts to probably the most prestigious final of their careers.

I love Spurs. I really do, but some of the players (who I won’t name as I don't want to lambast or be lambasted for sharing) this season have been poor throughout. I think there’s definitely a couple that wouldn’t be missed should they leave.

Think it has a lot to do with recruitment, meaning signings and reinforcements. The CM situation is clear testament to that. The RB failings similar. Some things are as clear as day re what we have and don't have in our squad.

But that makes no sense. You can’t just disregard Liverpools goals because you feel like it. We were behind and had to score in the second half and we had created zero chances in the first half. We were not even close to scoring. I can understand it if we created chances but just couldn’t finish them, but we didn’t do that. How in gods name were we supposed to score when we could barely get a shot on target. Did we even have a shot on target in the first half?

Also i can understand being afraid of going down 2-0 if Liverpool had played better, but they were there for the taking.

Man i just really wish we would have gone all in, to dare is to do. It didn’t feel like that. It felt like a first leg game. I think those 25 minutes where we went more offensive should have been 45 minutes instead... also because Lucas deserved more time on the pitch.

But oh well, nothing we can do about it know. I just hope we don’t play so passive next season.

In my opinion, he got it wrong by starting Kane today, and it’s not a hindsight issue. I felt that would be the wrong decision the whole time leading into the game, but I sure as hell was hoping I was wrong (and admittedly I thought I might be) once the lineups were announced.

That doesn’t change the fact that I f’ing love the man as the leader of our club.

A few at the club are leaving this summer. But this guy, is the only one we can't afford to lose.
Levy ain't stupid and knows that. He'll give him money to spend, I'm pretty sure of that. And If Poch leaves, it won't be because his demands weren't met imo.

Nobody is bigger than the club. I believe he will stay long term if his ambitions are matched with transfers. One things for sure we do need that investment now, Liverpool were not miles better but beat us three times this season so was not a fluke it fine margins. Those margins cost money/smarter recruitment.

Fantastic achievement to get us to the CL final and into the Champions League again for next season. Hopefully he will get the players he wants this summer to help us improve again.
