This is pure madness.

Signing no players sends out the wrong signals on so many levels. Teams coming up against you know they can play you exactly like the previous season. Psychologically it has a bad effect on the playing staff.

There’s just two examples. I just can’t believe a football club could be so stupid as to not sign a single player. It must be mind games.

Not subjective at all!!!
Some things best not to elaborated on.

Why would Poch need to have a “not being backed clause” in his contract? Yes Poch may have asked for assurances before signing his new deal, but in all honesty signing it doesn’t mean he’ll still be Spurs manager in 5 yrs, 4yrs or even next year. All signing a new deal did was give Poch a payrise (deserved) and ensured any other club would have to pay for him to become manager. Let’s face it if Madrid, PSG or United want Poch then they will pay.

The Real Madrid job came a year too soon....I can see both Madrid and United seriously testing Poch’s “loyalty to the project” next season.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Maybe Danny Rose is a desendant of Nostradamus and saw this window comming last summer.....

Jokes aside, i am sure some business will be done bit i think people expecting Martial, Kovacic and players like that are gonna meltdown all by themselves.

Great if any of those happen but that doesnt seem to be our market. Problem is, and this is a critical view of Levy from a fully signed up BSoDL the market he wants to operate in i dont think improves us.

JJ just said Poch is happy and we’re working on transfers.

He said...

I can tell you all this as so much crap being spoken that he isn’t carrying on & he wishes the market was easier but it’s absolutely shocking for many reasons so don’t worry about him. Apart from Liverpool no one can do business it’s ridiculous
Players are 100% being worked on

Every year the majority of us see this coming. We get shouted down and made to feel stupid because we don't understand business and things are so much more complicated than our puny minds can imagine.

At the end of it all we're supposed to swallow the excuse that we ran out of time and we were in an impossible situation that only applies to THFC.

The idea of there being value at the end of the transfer window makes no sense given the early closure. The only possible value would be buying from the prem but noone wants to sell to us because we're ****s in the market and have burned all our bridges..

Has the ITK discussion thread disappeared for everyone because of a major amount of shithousery, or is it just invisible to myself?

I never doubted this to be honest. One thing we have to realise is that Poch is not stupid. He will be getting fed up with the media and the fans asking the same bloody questions about transfers all the time. His frustration, his not wanting to give anything away will allow him to lead the media up the garden path. We've seen it before. He is not Harry.

And Levy Out? Give me a break, the guy has practically transformed Spurs. OK, some of his decisions have been questionable, but overall, he has done an outstanding job. Don't forget, at one point, I was just pleased to have a positive goal difference.

I will be AMAZED if we don't sign 1-3 players. As Poch says, "Believe, believe, believe." 9 days left. COYS!

For those that want Levy gone, likelihood is (based on business sense), once the stadium is done and the club seems stable top 4 they'll sell. So maybe people will get what they want soon enough.
It's the "stable top 4" part that people are questioning. And if this goes sideways in the next 12 months it could be very difficult to climb back into top-4 contention."

We did not need to have a "great" summer, but we did need to show some ambition. Now you have a nervous fan base, a nervous manager, and potentially players who question the club's ambition. It feels like an unforced error.

9 days to go and we're in this position. Crazy. Not suprised though, this is Tottenham after all.

Levy has to pull something out of the bag big time or it'll all implode, if it already hasn't judging by this place :nailbiting:

Yep. We should all be getting excited for the new stadium (which I will be for the first game) yet this sideshow is threatening to cast a shadow over the start of the season. Let’s see how we begin our fixtures though before we start questioning our ambition.

Precisely, theres no such thing as a top 4 at the moment, everyone of the big teams will miss out at some stage.

However, there are questions about how we would cope in comparison. It seems to have little effect on some teams.

We dont have the legacy of other teams unfortunately so it would harm us a lot more than say Man U or Chelsea who have dropped out with little effect, players will look at them and think "well they'll be back next year" not so with us. We are at a crucial juncture, its soo important to keep momentum this season. LEVY IN - WALLET OUT

With the transfer window coming to the end before the rest of europe and knowing the market is waiting for Real Madrid to move. We might see a huge domino effect on the last day of the english transfert window. Perhaps MoPo is aware of that.

I'm as annoyed as anyone but you cant read anything into Poch's comments. He constantly gives out misinformation in press conferences
