wow what a depressing day for morals

That stuff from Monahan a while ago about the 9/11 families etc etc and now this

Words fail me, absolutely disgusting - Rory must feel sick

Rory looks to have been struggling mentally for a little while, arguably due to the weight of basically being the tour spokesman since the LIV thing emerged, fielding all the hard questions, etc. All that pressure and burden for fuck all. Truly feel for the guy.

I hope Rory (and others) call out Monahan in public. He's totally gone against everything he said he stood for. Massive pay-off incoming no doubt but he's been an absolute snake.

He’s quite clearly been told to put a lid on it and tow the PR narrative now.
I can’t believe how this has panned out, still think this revolves around the Ryder Cup though but ultimately the respective tours have now had their wheels sufficiently greased….

Ryder Cup could have a very weird feel around it if some of the LIV guys manage to qualify.

Or if one of them tries to be captain again.

Imagine you were one of the mid level players that turned down LIV millions last year.

This is who the PGA is, they haven't been paying their golfers fairly and at the drop of a hat screwed over the golfers loyal to them

The sad thing is, this is modern sports. Its a corporation and making the board members money is the main goal

Club Championships last Saturday; 36 holes in a day, with a 20 minute rest between rounds. Body has been a mess ever since! Lowest net score wins (I get 10 shots per round off the tips, par 73).

Round 1 - shot 89 (79 net), lost 4 balls including 3 on a single hole. Recorded 2 x 8's. Fun times.
Round 2 - shot 77 (67 net; lowest ever score off the tips), no doubles, no lost balls.

Stupid game eh? I came 4th, losing to the winner by 3 shots. A big case of what could've been, but so proud of that 2nd round. I've now been cut to 8.4, which is the lowest I've ever been.

Funnily enough we had a 36 hole comp at my club

Shot 80 in the morning with 2 lost balls with a 30min turnaround

Was just happy to crawl back into the clubhouse after an 89 in the afternoon. Bloody long, hot day!

WHS handicap cut to 7.2 🤷‍♂️

Well done :)

Almost feel like the shit 1st round freed me up to play decent in the afternoon. Yesterday was a write-off though, body was a mess, missus had loads of jobs lined up, couldn't do fuck all!

I also witnessed the most uncomfortable thing I've ever seen on a golf course - a playing partner took a 20 on a par 4.

1st shot over a lake, all fine. Then shank right, found ball, shank right, found ball. Bladed pitch across green into greenside bunker; he took 15 shots to get out. There was sand and earth flying everywhere; tough to watch! Head completely gone, poor sod

Ye are all playing far better than I have been this year.

I've had a couple of steady ish rounds for the most part but 4 holes continue to kill me. Either end of front 9 or start of back 9.

Not sure what I'm doing differently but I'm up to 8.4 from 7.4 this time last year.

US Open this week.

The rough looks outrageous and there's 2 par 3s that are 284 and 290 yards. Should be fun.

Absolutely! Can't wait
Setup favours a Koepka again; long ish with penal rough.
Long, accurate guys gonna do well; Hovland perhaps and Homa (not longest, but excellent long irons; also course record holder at LACC)
Spieth in with a shout too IMO, especially if magic is needed out of the cabbage
Scheffler will be top of strokes gained tee to green again, but cannot buy a putt lately!

Less practice? Maybe 1 lesson to stamp out the bad habits from creeping in….

Really in a quandary about watching golf now. Been watching it since the late 80s. The recent turn of events has really soured it. all hail Rory.
