So glad to be away from these damned scousers. Was nice to see my friend and get my head into something else other than football for a bit and to then just speak openly about why I'm so invested in this, time and money.

Gave me some headspace to go back and watch some post match interviews.

Win or lose, we'd be looking ahead at next year in almost the exact same way anyway, because what matters now is us, not comparing ourselves to arsenal and the like.

Hope you're all safely home guys.

I can imagine what it was like for you being surrounded by scousers. Here in Ireland, I've seen people's front windows completely covered in Mo Salah posters. Not only are they bad losers but also bad winners. I wouldn't be at all surprised if most of them had a Mo Salah blowup doll they take to bed every night. When he leaves I'm sure a knife will be taken to it and replaced with God only knows what. Glad you got back safely, plenty to look forward to next season. Can't wait to be sitting in The South Stand for opening day.

lol. the spurs fans turned up with little seethrough bags and all the other guff that people do at commercial airports. I said any guns? any bombs? any drugs? answer was nope so they got on and following the safety talk (stay strapped in, dont open the door, no theres no toilet or steward service, yes it does fly, but just incase it doesnt heres where the raft is... and no theres no wifi) we left 10 minutes later... heading towards madrid ATC told me to drop to 5000ft and go sightseeing by flying counter clockwise around madrid. why fly in a straight line , if you can route spurs fans in a semi-circle? I had images of a spanish guy pissing himself at making the english idiot add 30 minutes to her flight time. Followed by passengers pointing in the direction of the international airport and saying ummm bunny the planes, and airports over there. Followed the road in, over the trees and landed in a dump. Still it gave customs something to do other than reading a newspaper. 15 minutes later we were on the street, and loose in madrid.
Got to the bar, fell asleep until the game. Should have stayed asleep. Never mind. After the game we met up in the early hours. Time for the team talk " lads the airports not open for flying until 9".. that went down worse than the CL final result.
Lucky for me it was going to be a flight home with morose spurs fans. Got permission to leave the dump at 9am when it opened. had a nice quiet flight apart from the one who decided the plane needed a toilet. Following a short stop off in france, and irate comments about bladder control, it was relatively quiet.
Great time, great memories. Shame about the result.

Mange tout, Rodders?

Breakfast isn’t a breakfast, people are french, country is in ruins, graffiti everywhere, superior attitude...

Lovely girl here at this hotel though who was very helpful. Spoke good English. She must have spent a long time in the u.k.

Better food and the people aren’t french. Would agree that Spain’s hardly up there on the list though.
I’ll agree on the food but the people are just as arrogant, refusing to speak English, refusing to help with anything, being rude and trying to rip us off at every opportunity. And that’s not to mention the trigger happy police looking to create trouble. So happy to be coming home.

Ah see now we only spent the day in Madrid. I would say that capital city’s aren’t a great place to judge a people by though.

We stayed in Burgos the Friday night and it was nice there.
